The Countryman E6i Cardioid Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is beige and features a 1/8" Locking-mini connector for use with AKG wireless transmitters.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from e nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The result is increased signal-to-noise ratio and minimal feedback. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning. The E6i is also available in an omnidirectional version for maximum control over wind noise and plosives (popping).

This E6i's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture strong vocals without noise and distortion. The high headroom is well suited for singers and performers in stage and broadcast applications.

Q: 1. Where is Auto Extension Tube Set made?

A: The Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Canon EOS is manufactured in China.

Q: 2. What dose DG stand for? I have a older set that are not DG.

A: DG helps you with electronic pass through info , for aperture control and autofocus

Q: 3. Can I still auto focus with this unit?

A: Yes, it has full electronic communication but when shooting macro/close up, it is very difficult to achieve autofocus at such close range. It is much better to manually focus when shooting macro.

Q: 4. will this fit the SL3 crop sensor?

A: Yes, it is compatible with all Canon models.

Q: 5. Does this unit outputs Timecode so I can sync jam my camera? So I can us Tentacle as the master or main timecode generator.

A: Yes, the Tentacle Sync Sync E Mk2 Timecode Generator with Bluetooth is capable of acting as the master time-code generator.

Q: 6. If I'm going to use a Canon lens on a Sony camera am I better to get the Canon-mount extension tube and put it before the adapter, or a Sony-mount extension tube, and put it after the adapter? Any functional difference? Thanks.

A: I would suggest the EF extension tubes with a Canon to sony adapter. You will have to set your aperture manually. FotodioX Canon EF Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Pro Fusion Smart AF Adapter Enables Autofocus and Auto Exposure (BH #FOEOSANEXP). You will experience light loss as you increase the tube length.

Q: 7. How is the image quality using those Extention Tubes vs a micro lens? In other words, does the tube degrade image quality vs bare lens?

A: A real macro lens has some advantages over a "standard lens" and extension tubes. If your subject is perfectly flat (a postage stamp, for instance), a real macro lens (one designed to focus 1:1 scale or close to it) will be sharper in the corners. If the subject has depth (like probably 99% of the stuff you take pictures of with a macro lens), then you NEVER have enough depth-of-focus. If you want even a few millimeters of the subject in focus at 1:1 scale, you need to set the lens to a REALLY small aperture. My Nikon macro lenses have an f32 setting. Most standard lenses can only stop down to f16. f32 is a big advantage. Using an extension tube to increase magnification just increases your need to use smaller and smaller apertures to keep anything in focus. BUT... a 50mm to 100mm prime lens and ext. tubes is still a great way to get high-magnification shots. You would have to take a lot of close-up images to justify the difference in cost between tubes and a real 105mm macro lens. I would certainly just use tubes and a 50mm lens while saving up for a 105mm macro. Don't waste your money on a macro shorter than 100mm. The extra subject to lens distance you get with 100+mm focal length is really important to good subject lighting, among many other things.

Q: 8. I have a Nikon D300 and want to use my Nikon 50mm f/1.8D lens. Just starting to play with the idea of macro for fun. Will these work? What would be another lens size to add for these?

A: These will work. Autofocus and data transfer between lens and camera is maintained. As another answer mentioned, a 100mm lens would be a good one to try as well.

Q: 9. Will this work with my Sony a6000?

A: No

Q: 10. What is the difference between the VI and VII Canon EF? And same question re the two Nikon F versions?

A: Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Canon EF/EF-S Mounts and Lenses is 13, 21, and 31mm lengths. V2 is 12, 20, and 36mm lengths. The Nikon F V1 and V2 are the same just made at different factories.
