The Lectrosonics Battery Eliminator allows UM series wireless transmitters to be operated from external power sources. The Battery Eliminator resembles a standard 9 volt battery with an external power connector. This model does not include the specially modified battery compartment door and replaces the Battery Eliminator itself.

10 to 18 volt DC is converted to regulated 9 volt DC to power the transmitter at the battery terminals inside the compartment. The Battery Eliminator is an ideal tool while using UM series transmitters, operating on 9 volt batteries.

A: No, the Camera has the port and it is an E3 connection.

A: Pentax does not specify how but with the grip and battery, you will get double the battery life. Which makes sense; there are two batteries. To answer your question, if one of the batteries dies, the other will take over until it dies.

A: The power switch on the camera still controls the camera power. The switch on the battery grip is used to transfer controls from the camera body to the grip. This can be handy for vertical shots. If the camera switch is on and the grip switch is off, then the camera controls work normally and the grip controls are not functional. (At least by my memory.)
