Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit on a Manfrotto 756XB tripod? The 701HDV head has been discontinued.

A: Yes, the Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base is compatible with the Manfrotto 756XB tripod.

Q: 2. Is this head compatible with JVC KY-PZ100BU ?

A: Yes it is. You can use that PTZ camera on this tripod head.

Q: 3. Is this tripod allowed in disneyland? it states in disneylnd faq that they allow tripods but not large tripods. Is this considered Large?

A: The Disneyland rule is Folding tripod stands or monopod stands that can fit inside a standard backpack are permitted. The folded length of this tripod and head is about 30 which would require a rather large backpack. My opinion is that probably the Park would allow it but that of course is up to the security staff. You may wish to consider this smaller Manfrotto with the MVH500AH Head, and the MT190XPRO4 Legs. It's folded length is about 25 . Finally, here is a very small yet capable travel tripod and head the Benro Aero 4 Video Travel Angel Tripod Kit which is only 21.7 when folded.

Q: 4. can this be mounted on any tripod?

A: This has a 3/8"-16 thread which will allow it to be mounted on a wide variety of tripods.

Q: 5. Anyone try this with a video rig 9-10lbs? How does it handle close to max payload?

A: This is a good light-duty head for use with DSLRs and smaller video cameras and it should be good even at max payload. However, since you are asking I would suggest considering a higher capacity head if you are going to be at the max load most of the time.

Q: 6. I'm trying to decide between this head, and the Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head for use with a DSLR and a variety of lenses. The heaviest lens I have is around 5 lbs., so with the DSLR, it would still be under the 11 pound capacity. Any input? Thanks.

A: In a video head, look for smoothness, weight capacity, dual locks, adjustable drag and counter balance. This one has all but the last two which are not adjustable. For the price, this is a fine head for most consumer video situations. The next step up would be an example like the Benro S7 Video Head B&H # BEVHS7. It has a bigger capacity, 15 lbs, and adjustable tilt drag and counterbalance.

Q: 7. How does this attach to tripods? a 1/4 in screw?

A: This head has a 3/8"-16 Thread under it. That is a standard option for flat base tripods.

Q: 8. Will this work with a Sony FDR-AX53

A: Yes it will work fine. how ever I would use a smaller head for that camera.. as this head is pretty large for such camera.. Look for the smaller manfrotto head.... Things to look for are MAX payload.. your camera is approx 1.3lbs and this head is designed for up to 11lbs.. I would look for a smaller head closer to max payload of 4lbs for your style camera...

Q: 9. Would this tripod be appropriate for a Celestron Regal M2 100ED Spotting Scope?

A: Yes. That is correct! The Manfrotto MT190X3 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with MVH500AH Fluid Head Hybrid Video Kit, this item BH #MAMVK5001903 • MFR #MVK500190X3 would work with a Celestron Regal M2 100ED Spotting Scope. The Scope weights 73.5 oz / 2.1 kg and the Manfrotto Tripod supports 15.4 lb / 7 kg.

Q: 10. Hi, will the ProMediaGear PM501 plate fit with MVH500? If not, is there some other ARCA-Swiss compatible plate? Thanks!

A: I'm afraid not. The MVH500AH is only compatible with the 500PLong Plate. Instead you may want to look at the 502HD, B&H # MAMVH502AH. This model is compatible with different tripod plates, including those that are 501PL style like the plate you mentioned from ProMediaGear.https://bhpho.to/2bKwVVJ
