The tan E6 Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Highest Gain, with Detachable 2mm Cable and TA5F Connector for Audio-Technica Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one-tenth ounce. It is a water- and wind-resistant microphone that can be used on either ear for capturing audio in houses of worship, theater, or outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6 Earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers forget they're wearing a mic. Three sensitivity options cover general speaking to extremely powerful vocals and four color options allow you to match the E6 to your skin tone for minimum visibility.

In addition, the E6 Earset features three omni caps (very bright +8 dB, bright +4 dB, and flat +0 dB) that deliver response characteristics for most other applications such as recording flute and violin. The E6 Earset is available as a directional microphone too with cardioid and hypercardioid caps. This omnidirectional E6 Earset's cable terminates to a TA5F connector for direct connection to an Audio-Technica ATW-U101 wireless bodypack transmitter.

The Countryman E6 head-worn Earset is small and lightweight, and is hardly visible from a distance.

The E6 Earset's stainless steel boom is built tough and can be bent and re-bent many times to fit different performers. The E6 is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps.

The flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face and is available in multiple skin tones. Their protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones; caps for the directional earset adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid. Choose a sensitivity for speaking or singing with up to 140 dB SPL capability.

The E6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion and an SPL of up to 140 dB. It delivers rich, full band audio quality.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a position for rejecting unwanted sounds. Countryman's omnidirectional Earset offers a reduction of 12 dB compared to a lavalier mic, while the directional E6 Earset provides even more isolation. Excellent for houses of worship, theater, and outdoor events.

An E6 replacement cable installs in seconds. The snap-on cables are rugged and available for almost any wireless transmitter or for XLR inputs with phantom power.

For general speaking.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use a Sony WCS-999 wireless microphone system with this camera?

A: Yes they are compatible. This camcorder has a 3.5mm input that you can use with the Sony WCS-999 receiver.

Q: 2. How does the aperture scale as you zoom in? So at what focal length does it become f1.4, f1.8, etc?

A: That is a bit difficult to tell, since the actual focal length is not displayed. What is displayed is either a bar graph or a number between 0 and 99 (when digital zoom is turned off. The aperture does appear to close linearlly with zoom, not reaching F3.5 until its almost fully zoomed. Based on the 0 to 99 numeric zoom indicator, its: 0 - F1.2; 18 - F1.4; 31 - F1.6; 41 - F1.8; 51 - F2.0; 58 - F2.2; 70 - F2.5; 77 - F2.8; 90 - F3.2; 99 - F3.5. Also, when zoomed to double the widest angle, judging by the image magnified 2X, the aperture is F1.8.

Q: 3. can it be film in 25p or 50p?

A: Yes. It will film in 25p as well as 50i and 50p.

Q: 4. How do you replace the CR 2025 battery?

A: This camcorder uses a JVC BN-style battery.

Q: 5. is it better than sony ax100 or panasonic hc-wx970 ?

A: I would hesitate to say it is better or worse than the HC-W970 or Sony Ax100. I chose the JVC GY-HM170UA camera because of the XLR inputs and the assignable lens control. I have not used the Sony or Panasonic cameras. I like my JVC very much. It is very sharp and after tweaking the gamma I love the pictures it produces. I use a Sony HXR NX5U at work. The picture I get shooting in 1080i with the JVC I feel is better than the Sony( the Sony seems soft). This little camera is packed with features I would recommend the JVC based on the XLR inputs and lens rings alone. There are some reviews of the camera on you tube that may help you in your decision.

Q: 6. If the camera were to run out of battery (or get unplugged) would the video recorded be lost?

A: The video recorded on the SD card will not be lost if the camera loses power. This is the same for all video camera's.

Q: 7. Does this have the option to burn timestamp into image for legal video purposes?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 8. What sort of wired remote works with this camera, and is there one that can turn the camera OFF or at least put it into some kind of standby mode?

A: there isn't a wired remote that will turn this camera on and off

Q: 9. the camcorder include JVC Top Handle Unit with XLR and Audio Control for GY-HM170?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. I need to use a step-up 62-to-72mm adapter but seems like the hood holder doesn't allow the adapter to screw in. Any idea how to fix that, I think there is no way to remove the holder, unless someone has an idea on how to do that, or alternatives? Thanks

A: The hood on the GY-HM170UA can be removed if needed. To attach a filter, step-up adapter or wide angle lens to this camera's 62mm filter thread you will need to remove the hood. How to remove the hood is demonstrated on page 16 of this manual:http://bit.ly/2deiNa0
