The Countryman E6i Cardioid Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.
The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.
The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.
A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is cocoa and features a 6-pin LEMO connector for use with Audio-Limited wireless transmitters.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.
The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability.
The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from e nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The result is increased signal-to-noise ratio and minimal feedback. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning. The E6i is also available in an omnidirectional version for maximum control over wind noise and plosives (popping).
This E6i's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture strong vocals without noise and distortion. The high headroom is well suited for singers and performers in stage and broadcast applications.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. When using ALL tubes stacked together with a Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens, what sort of magnification are we getting?
A: If you use all three tubes together on the 50mm f1.8 lens, your magnification will be very close to a 1:1 ratio.
Q: 2. Will these tubes work with the D810 and the 60mm Macro?
A: Yes, this set is compatible with your D810 and the 60mm micro lens.
Q: 3. In the product reviews mention is made of both a plastic and a metal version of these tubes. If this is correct, what are these. I mean I'd buy genuine Nikon usually and stick to well built metal parts even if heavier but it does seem in this case these independent tubes are a better choice for the modern FX DSLR world where aperture rings on lenses are non existent in G series) and having the option of using AP modes with matrix metering is preferred.
A: The Kenko Auto Extension Tubes are plastic with metal contacts.
Q: 4. does anyone know what maximum ratio (e.g. 2:1) you can achieve with these on a canon 100mm f/2.8L and a canon 50mm f/1.8?
A: The set of 3 tubes will give maximum magnification of 1.65X with Canon 100L macro, and 1.45X with Canon 50mm F1.8II, and 1.51X with the new Canon 50mm STM. You can calculate the magnification for other lenses, on the site cambridgeincolour in the Tutorials section.
Q: 5. Hi, I own a GH4 with a panasonic 20mm 1.7, and a 45mm 1.7. Will it work with the kenko extension tube?
A: I used mine on an Olympus OMD-EM10, and they worked very well. They should work on your Panasonic, with a few caveats. Since the Olympus has sensor-shift image stabilization, I could not test to see if they have the connections for IS on Panasonic lenses. Also, you will have a very short working distance with those lenses. The 45 mm should work OK, but the 20 may be a little short. I mainly use mine with a 60 mm macro, but have used them on a 12-40mm zoom (mostly at 40mm) and also with the Panny 100-300 zoom. The longer the focal length of your lens, the better the working distance, which is especially important for insects. The Kenko tubes seemed well built, so I bought a set for my Nikon camera too.
Q: 6. Will these lenses keep the colors true? I need to take pictures of my handcrafted jewelry. My D3000 for some reason distorts colors, plus I need to get in closer for shots.
A: These are extension tubes, they have no glass in them and therefore will not affect the optical quality and color of the lens.
Q: 7. I have a canon 80d with a 18-55mm lens on will these work with that? Thanks
A: I have used these on several Canon cameras and they are seamless with the lenses.
Q: 8. Are these tubes compatible with a Canon 70D and a Sigma 105mm macro lens?
A: They should operate fine. The only electrical components inside are simple pass through contacts for passing lens information to the camera body. There are no optical components inside, just air. There are some compromises involved with macro tube use. When in use, focus to infinity is usually not possible.Working distance becomes very close.Depth of field/plane of focus becomes very thin.Magnification = Total Extension / Focal Length + Lens' native magnification. In the case of your Sigma 105 macro, native magnification is 1:1.With the full 68mm stack of Kenkos, you'll get 68/105=0.65x additional magnification, 1.65x total. The shorter the lens' focal length, the greater the additional magnification. For example, using the full 68mm set with a 40mm pancake lens, magnification increases from 0.18x to 1.88x.Downside remains depth of field. 68mm extension with a 40mm lens results in depth of field the requires either a subject (and its plane of focus) be parallel to the sensor and/or focus stacking multiple frames. So, not sure what you're hoping for adding these to a 105mm macro lens, there will be some additional magnification, nothing radically different as with a shorter focal length. Can't help with crop factor differences, no experience, no interest.
Q: 9. will these tubes work with a D70S?
A: Yes, these tubes work perfectly with the D70S and D7100.
Q: 10. Are these extension tubes fully compatible with the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 28-300 lens?
A: Yes. I have used these extension tubes with my 28-300 many times with very good results.
