Q: 5. I own an EOS 80D, for video I've found out the included lens (Canon 18-135mm) in the Video Creator Kit performs wonderfully but for photography, would I gain quality with this Canon 24-105mm F/4?

A: The included 18-135mm lens in the Video Creator Kit for the 80D is f/3.5-5.6. That means as you zoom in the aperture will stop down. This 24-105mm has a constant aperture of F/4.0. As you zoom in, the aperture will not stop down. Also the 24-105mm is an L Lens. L lenses are Canon's highest quality of glass, so the overall quality will be nicer on this lens than the kit lens.

A: Yes. The 1.5x crop factor would also apply to the T3i, or any other camera which features an APS-C sized sensor. To give you a wide-angle option, I would recommend something like the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8. This lens will give you a zoom range that is similar to the 18-55mm lens, but with a much faster aperture. A: not so recent, bought it over a year ago, but no, haven't noticed any squeaks...

A: No. I'm not aware of any lenses with f-stops that are parfocal. In order to get a parfocal lens, you'll want to look into Cinema lenses which use t-stops. They're typically parfocal.

Q: 10. Is this lens better for sports or weddings

A: I use this as my everyday lens both on my 7D & 6D. Most certainly you can use for sports especially the 7D but I would prefer my 70/200 2.8 for that purpose. I don't shoot weddings but if I did, it would be in the bag. My want to consider the 2.8 24-70 for weddings but it does carry a heavier price tag and is larger in size and weight.
