The Tiffen 127mm Low Light Ultra Contrast 3 Filter can be applied to purposely increase detail within shadow regions while photographing an image or while recording video under low-light conditions. By distributing ambient illumination to darker areas within a scene, this filter is also useful in helping to uniformly balance the tonal range among highlights and shadows. Overall contrast is reduced while flare and halation around highlights is purposely limited.

This filter has a grade of 3. Grades of 1, 2, and 4 are also available where this filter type's effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the camera need the SDHC U3 SD card or will a U1 work?

A: Edward M.,Before I pulled the trigger on my Panasonic HC-VX870, I did a little research on memory cards. The one I bought is the new PNY elite performance SDXC (Class 10) memory card which was recommended to handle the larger 4K files. I opted for the 256GB version which if examined closely, has a very small U1 symbol in the far right corrner indicating that it is cataforized as such. It transfers information at 90MB/s and works flawlessly. I feel that investing just a little more goes a long way toward success. The camera is an outstanding value for the buck and coupled with a strong SDXC card, they're both winners in my book.

Q: 2. What battery for this camcorder?

A: This camcorder is compatible with the included VW-VBT190 battery and and the optional VW-VBT380.

Q: 3. Are the recorded chucks of data 4Gig, if not what size are they?

A: Hello! Scenes exceeding 4 GB (approx.) or 30 minutes (approx.) will be automatically divided in the following cases (recording will continue): when [REC FORMAT] is set to [4K MP4] or when recording a motion picture in 4K Photo Mode and when [REC FORMAT] is set to [MP4/iFrame]. -C

Q: 4. is this camera WebEx compatible?

A: no

Q: 5. How long can this continuously record? I'm a DSLR user and am looking for something without the file size / time limitation.

A: As long as the card and battery last.

Q: 6. Hi, does the camcorder comes with international warranty? would like it to be shipped to Singapore.

A: No, this would not have an International warranty. The included warranty is 1-Year Warranty on Parts and 90-Day Warranty on Labor from the manufacturer in the US

Q: 7. Can this camera do slow motion playback to an external monitor?

A: Yes. Footage shot at 120fps may be viewed on an external monitor offering an HDMI input.

Q: 8. can you connect this camera to a smart phone to use as a remote without wifi, like a animal viewing blind in an African park ?

A: Yes, the Panasonic HC-VX870K 4K Ultra HD Camcorder can connect directly to a smartphone and provide remote access and remote viewing.

Q: 9. Can this be powered by d tap - and if so, how?

A: Yes, a D-tap cable could provide power from a power source to this monitor. You will need to use connect a D-tap to Sony L series cable, or a D-tap to LP-E6 cable. There is also a barrel input that could connect a D-tap source to this port.

Q: 10. Does it have a, outgoing HDMI port?I plan to use it with a Blackmagic Ultrastudio mini recorder for livestream session.

A: Well, I was very surprised today when I tried to both record in 4k and use the HDMI out to live stream into a Sling camera link. The HDMI goes dark as soon as the record button is pressed! On a hunch, I switched record mode from 4k to 1080p, and it worked. And the HDMI out is a micro HDMI, not mini. I had to buy a special cable to connect to the Sling wireless camlink. I really need the 4k recording because it's a stationary camera that usually needs lots of cropping in post. The manual says nothing about this limitation.
