Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Pelican 1514 carry on 1510 case, will it fit canon 1dxm2, 7dm2, 300mm L F4, 70-300mm L, 24-70mm F4 plus extra battery, flash 580ex? As i read, the case can carry into airplane as carry-on case?

A: I don't think you'll have any problems containing your equipment in this case. I have a D800, 105mm micro, 17-35mm zoom, 50mm, 120-300mm f2.8 zoom, three converters, chargers, point & shoot camera and many little accessories. You will have to take Pelican's word on the carryon capability.

Q: 2. Will this case hold a 7d, T4i with grip, 2 flashes, and 3 lens(10-20mm, 18-35mm, 200mm), and 2 battery charges?

A: No. Not quite enough space.

Q: 3. I want to keep my lens always mounted to the body for quick retrieval. Will the trekPack divider system accommodate this type of long configuration?

A: Yes it will, the TrekPak offers a lot of customization in how you setup the dividers, just make sure it is large enough for your equipment. I wouldn't ship the equipment with the camera mounted though. This case is used for shipping or checking in under an airplane, when doing that better to keep the lens disconnected from the body in order not to place pressure on the mount when the case is thrown around.

Q: 4. I am considering the Rokinon Xeen 14, 16, 24, 35, 50, 85, 135mm Cine 7 Lens Bundle, will these 7 lenses fit in this case?

A: Yes, with plenty of space in between each lens.

Q: 5. Can you fit a 70d, 500mm f/4 and 70-200mm in this case?

A: can't help you with your question, sorry. using case for smaller lens'

Q: 6. I've been researching this bag, and am ready to purchase but am running into an issue... I've looked at the 1510 Studio Case B&H#PE1510SCB but then I found this one, B&H#PE1510DB for nearly $80 less. The only difference I've been able to find is the ability to store my laptop in the sleeve, is that all I'm getting for the extra $80?

A: Yes that is correct. That is what makes the model more expensive is that Lap Top Compartment in the lid. That is the only difference.

Q: 7. I just purchased the Pelican 1535AirTP. I'm concerned that the Trekpak inserts, as well as the perimeter material is too stiff to protect my cameras & lenses. Carry on would be fine, but if I have to check it? I guess a lot of people like them, so it's probably fine. Also, maybe the plastic "honeycomb" between the layers of foam does more to impact shock than either the yellow foam system or the pluck foam system. Thoughts?

A: We've found the protection from TrekPak to be incredibly supportive/impact-absorbing as well as more space-efficient that their traditional pick-and-pluck foam or padded dividers. Your results will vary due to how crazy the turbulence gets on your flight, but in all honesty we believe these offer the same level of protection as (if not higher than) the other interior options.

Q: 8. Will this bag fit a Leica D-Lux 7?

A: Yes, Leica D-Lux 7 Digital Camera will fit inside Leica D-Lux 7 Digital Camera. The camera is 4.6 x 2.6 x 2" and the bag is 5.12 x 3.15 x 2.1".

Q: 9. Does anyone know if the foam can be removed from the lid without ruining it? Same question for any bottom foam. I'd like to remove it, but still be able to put it back as soon as I'm done with this one particular carry need. I'm referring to the option which includes the TP dividers and foam lid.

A: Yes it can.

Q: 10. how big is this case?

A: Not sure of the actual dimensions, (they should be included with the product specs), but it is a little taller than a carry on sized suitcase.

One of these with the padded dividers will hold two Fuji X-T1 cameras with vertical grips and the 10-24mm, 14mm, 18-55mm, 23mm, 35mm, 56mm and 55-200mm lenses. I also use another iM2200 for a 645z body and 4 Hasselblad lenses with a lens adapter. The padded dividers are great. I used to buy the foam insert versions of these cases because they were cheaper and offered a sense of greater protection, but I find that I can get a lot more gear in the case with padded dividers and there is still plenty of padding to protect the equipment. They fit enough gear that I can keep the core of my various kits close to me while I travel. The case is a little bit shorter than I might like. It's a tight fit with the X-T1 and vertical grip, but that's the only (tiny) complaint I have about these cases. They're awesome, especially with the padded dividers. The yellow is super visible without being obnoxious but classic black is great as well. I usually apply some glow in the dark tape or reflective tape to the outside of my pelican cases to help with visibility in low light. Can't tell you how many time I've tripped over these in the dark.

Another tough yet lightweight pelican case. Bonus is that the storm line of cases is made here in the USA!

This is just the right size for the Ronin digital recorder we have. I like the variety of sizes that Pelican has, and especially their guarantee.

The Pelican Storm iM2200 case is one of several Pelican cases I now own. I have found that Pelican cases are very well constructed and live up to their high ratings other reviewers have posted.  This particular USA made case is nicely designed providing sufficient room to store and protect my DSLR camera body along with microphone, flash unit, and other items.

The two middle 'pick & pluck' foam layers made customizing and fitting the gear easy.  If you need a top quality case for your photographic equipment at a reasonable price Pelican is the way to go.

This is my second case. First one got sold wit the motorcycle. That is what I use this case for. I needed to protect my expensive camera and lenses from vibration, dust and moisture. This case does this perfectly. The last one went through an off-road crash as my top case. Everything inside looked like nothing happened. The results made me buy another. If you need to protect anything, I recommend this case highly!

The latches have been improved compared to the older cases. The size is good for running off to outdoor shoots. I really had to take some time to figure out the right configuration for lenses and filters. It _almost_ allows you to load a 6.5 lens in an upright position, but I'm hesitant to do that because the foam in the lid is compressed a bit more than I am comfortable with. Other than that, I highly endorse this case.
