The Pelican iM2500 Storm Trak Case with Foam (Yellow) is an injection-molded case made of HPX high performance resin, that is virtually unbreakable, dent-resistant and shatter-resistant. It is tough, rugged, lightweight, airtight and watertight. There is a permanently attached Vortex valve that automatically adjusts air pressure without letting in water, and won't unscrew from the case. Press & Pull latches open with the push of a button, yet stay closed securely under impact or stress. The case has unbreakable molded-in hasps that allow the addition of standard size padlocks. It has hinges with integrated feet that hold fast under impact, and create a flat surface for upright stability. It is carried by a double-layered, soft-grip, solid-core handle, lightweight retractable, telescoping handle and rugged in-line wheels.
This case has a multilayer cubed foam bottom and a convoluted foam pad in the lid.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can you input one shotgun mic into channel 1 and split into two channels internally with different levels one 0db, -20db for safety track?
A: When using the L/R input, in addition to the recording at the set input level, the recorder can also record a separate file at alevel 12dB below. For example, this backup can be used if the recording level was set too high, causing distortion.
Q: 2. What's the battery life with continuous use of alkaline batteries?
A: When phantom-powering two typical mics, I get a bit over one hour from brand-name NiCD or NiMH (the H5 takes four AAs). That drain rate is mostly due to phantom power's heavy draw. Fresh alkalines last a bit longer, maybe a hair over 90 minutes. The rare times I've used my H5 without feeding phantom power to a mic pair, the batteries last much longer: e.g., after 2-2.5 hours, the initially fresh batteries show around 2/3 full.TIP 1: If you shoot near wall outlets, you can connect the H5 via its mini-USB port to any small cheap USB charger by any USB cable you have laying around, to run off wall current forever. I do this for shooting plays. This way, I can leave the LCD setting to stay lit (i.e., no power saving feature to turn off the LCD backlight after x minutes), so I can easily see recording levels at all times.TIP 2: If you shoot away from any wall outlets, you can still power the H5 externally via the same mnii-USB port by using any external power pack (like folks use for cell phones and tablets on long plane trips). Just make sure the connection is secure. A little gaf tape is good insurance.
Q: 3. Is there an "auto" option for recording input level, instead of having to set it manually?
A: Yes, the Zoom H5 does have options for auto-recording and it can automatically set the input level. This feature can be very useful, but it depends on what you will be recording because you do not want to have the recorder stop if it does not hear any sound, then start recording again when it does. What you can do is use the auto-record function to see how it sets the input level and then you can go back to manual mode and set the input level the same way or adjust it as needed. That way you will not have to worry about the recorder stopping and starting at the wrong times. Use the auto mode to teach you how to set the input levels so you can adjust them manually in order to get the best results for your recording applications.
Q: 4. Do you pluck out the top layer and the middle layer or just the top layer?
A: Depending on the depth of each specific camera items, you pick and pluck the layer(s) that are needed to have that item sit at least minimally flush with the egg carton top cushion. For in between size items you may find it necessary to add some previously removed foam layers to the bottom layer in the event that your item is to big for a single layer pick and pluck but not large enough for the maximum depth that occurs when both layers are removed. This should prevent shifting of content when transporting your Pelican case.
Q: 5. Can a canon xf305 fit in this case?
A: Yes
Q: 6. What is the average run time on the Vaxis Storm Cine 8 NPF Mount?
A: The Vaxis Storm Cine 8 Wireless Monitor (NPF Mount) consumes 21 watts. If using two Watson NP-F975 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 7800mAh), which offer 57.2Wh each, you can expect around five and a half hours of operation. See the link below: https://bhpho.to/3oSN9F8
Q: 7. Can I remove the dividers and replace it with a foam insert if I decide I want to change it in the future?
A: Hi William!Yes you can. The dividers are totally removable in one piece.
Q: 8. So I am looking into buying my audio equipment and I am confused on what I should buy. Should I get the Zoom H5, Rode VideoMic Pro or should I buy an audio kit with boom pole? Or should I buy all three?
A: Dear Bryce. The zoom H5 is a recording device, or capture device. It's like a tape recorder, a nagra from the old days, except its digital. It has two little microphones on it which can come off. It has xlr inputs and 1/4 inch inputs for mics. On other words, you can attach anything to this device, like wireless receivers that take a signal from a Mic which you place on an actor, or, you could take a wireless signal from a Mic on the end of a boom pole. You can also run cable to the Mic and plug in directly to this device. So, for movie making this allows the sound person to be independent from the camera. All you need to do to make it easy to sync up later is use sticks at the beginning of a take, or the end. Do you follow me?.?.? Good.
Q: 9. In multi-track recording mode, can I set one channel to record a line-level input, while the other channel receives a mic-level signal?
A: Input 1 and 2 (XLR connectors) are two mono inputs. Each has a seperate gain control knob on the body of H5. It is absolutely possible to set one channel to record at line level and the other to record at mic level. There is also a stereo line/mic input (the L/R input) on the XYH-5 mic module that is shipped with H5. This stereo input (TRS connector) has only one gain control knob. The knob is on the mic module, not on the body of H5. This knob adjust recording levels of both stereo channels of the TRS input at the same time. Therefore it is not possible to record the two channels of the L/R input at different levels (theoretically you can use a split-cable with in-line physical attenuators. But I do not recommand you do this). And since the L/R channel has its own knob on the mic module, it is also possible that you record stereo at line level from the L/R input while at the same time record at mic level with the XLR inputs.P.S. The capability of recording different channels at different levels is not determined by in which mode you are recording (multi-track or stereo). The capability of recording different channels at different levels is determined by the gain control knobs. The multi-track and stereo recording mode are about how the recorded files are stored in the memory card. In multi-track mode, recording from the L/R stereo input is stored as a stereo file while recordings from the 1 and 2 inputs are stored as two seperate mono files. In stereo mode you can also record more than two channels. But if there are more than two channels recorded, all channels will be recorded together into a single stereo file. In multi track mode, you are able to adjust record volumes after recording since all channels are stored in seperate files. In stereo modes, if you are recording more than two channels, you have to pay serious attention to the gain control knobs since you are not able to adjust volumes independently AFTER recording. If more than two channels are recorded at stereo mode, at least one channel will be mixed with another channel in the stereo file.
Q: 10. When taking of the capsules, what is the best way to protect the contacts? Is there a product for this particular purpose? Thanks.
A: There is not. I recommend placing them in heavy-duty plastic zip lock (freezer)bags or photo lens pouches.
