It has xlr inputs and 1/4 inch inputs for mics. On other words, you can attach anything to this device, like wireless receivers that take a signal from a Mic which you place on an actor, or, you could take a wireless signal from a Mic on the end of a boom pole. You can also run cable to the Mic and plug in directly to this device. So, for movie making this allows the sound person to be independent from the camera.
