Q: 1. I have an original 120-300 f2.8, probably the first version of that lens. Do you know if this teleconverter (or even the 1.4) will work on this old lens?

A: The Sigma TC-2001 2x Teleconverter for Nikon F would only be compatible for use with the current Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Nikon F. It would not be compatible for use with the original Sigma APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX IF HSM Lens, the Sigma APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG HSM Lens, or the Sigma APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Lens. The correct teleconverter for the older 120-300mm lens was the Sigma APO Teleconverter 2x EX DG for Nikon F, B&H # SI2XDGNAF • MFR # 876306, which has unfortunately been discontinued and is no longer available. If you are looking for a third-party option that would be compatible for your usage needs, the Kenko TELEPLUS HD DGX 2x Teleconverter for Nikon F-Mount G/E Type Lenses, B&H # KEKTPHD2.0N, may also work as an alternative for your usage needs.

Q: 2. Will this converter work with the Tamron 150 - 600mm ?

A: Sigmas teleconverters are only compatible with a select number of Sigmas pro-level telephoto lenses. They are not compatible with lenses from other manufacturers. So, the TC-2001 will not be compatible with the Tamron 150-600mm lens. You could look at the Tamron 2x AF Teleconverter for Nikon. Keep in mind, though, you will lose autofocus.

Q: 3. Is this 2x teleconverter compatible with Nikon 850 and Sigma 150-500 mm lens? Will autofocus work at f6.3?

A: I'm sorry it is not compatible with that lens and in order to get AF, the lens must be f/4 or faster.

Q: 4. On a D750 with this 2x teleconverter and Sigma 120-300; at the far ends, is it possible to still hand hold the set up or is it tripod dependent? Thanks!

A: Not too familiar with the D750. I have a D800 Sigma 150-600 Sports with a 1.4 teleconverter. I've had success handholding. I use Dynamic Auto Focus. Need a lot of light or high ISO, shutter speed at least 1000 better at 2000. Need to spend a lot of time at the gym building up your left arm...

Q: 5. I have a Nikon D7200 with two lenses. I have two Sigma lenses for the D7200. Will this teleconverter work with Signa( 2.8 17-55 )mm and Sigma( 2.8 70-200 )mm on the D7200 ? If so will it work in auto focus or manual focus. Thanks.

A: It should work with the Sigma lenses, but only with manual focus.

Q: 6. I would like to know if the Sigma teleconverter x2, is compatible for lens Nikkor 200-500 AFS 5.6E ED. Nikon Which of the varieties would be the most convenient, within the Sigma models.???Thank you so much

A: Unfortunately 2x teleconverters are not recommended with the Nikon 200-500 AFS f/5.6E ED lens, because its f/5.6 aperture combined with a 2x teleconverter would effectivily be f/11 and the camera would no longer be able to autofocus. We would suggest a 1.4x teleconverter such as Nikon's TC-14E III (B&H # NITC14EIII ) or the Sigma TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter for Nikon F (B&H # SITC1401N) as you requested.Per Nikon: Autofocus is available only with cameras that offer f/8 support. These include the D5, D500, D4/D4S, Df, D850, D810/D810A, D800/D800E, D750, D600/D610, D7100, D7200 and D7500. For cameras that do not support f/8, teleconverters can be used without autofocus.

Q: 7. I have a Sigma 150-500 F5.6-6.3 lens from 2013 and shoot a D7200. If I am not concerned about losing the AF on my canera, will this teleconverter function properly?

A: Unfortunately no. The Sigma TC-2001 2x Teleconverter for Nikon F will not fit the 150-500mm lens. You can use this Kenko instead in manual focus mode: https://bhpho.to/2r6DDwK

Q: 8. Does it work with sigma 100-400?

A: It did not work with my Sigma 100-400 + Canon 5Ds-r.According to Sigma Service it should not.

Q: 9. Does this teleconverter work with a Nikon 80-200mm lens?

A: No, it is not compatible.

Q: 10. Will this work on a sigma 150-500mm lens?

A: The Sigma APO series teleconverters for Sigma SA would be compatible with your lens. https://bhpho.to/2XlLLHv https://bhpho.to/2LyHbDy

I bought this for my recent Sigma 150-600 lens and used it on a trip to Canada. It works great and I got some really nice pictures of loons and a snapping turtle laying eggs near our room.
