Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the warranty on this used/refurbished lens?

A: This is a refurbished product that comes with a Nikon Limited 90-Day Warranty.

Q: 2. Will this lens work with a teleconverter?

A: Yes, this lens will be compatible with teleconverters.

Q: 3. I was wondering seeing that this lens hasn't got VR on it. how would it be to shoot sports or aircraft in flight at a airshow. or racecars at a race track. Or would I be better off using the 24-70mm f2.8E ED VR lens for taking these pictures. Because of the price for these 2 lens is close to one another I'm trying to decide which lens would be the better choice. Thank You!

A: Not sure if you've actually had the chance to hold this in your hands, but despite the pictures, it is a big lens. But not that big that VR is needed. It's has a large diameter but short length. That being said I'm sure you'll find it useful for many things. However, having taken pictures of air shows (Naval Academy graduations and Andrews AFB) and race cars (Indy 500, Pocono 500 etc..) There are better lenes. At both types of events I use the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | S on a tripod with a three axis head for hand held I use my Nikon V3 with the 1 NIKKOR VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6. The Nikon 1 system is light enough to track fast moving jets, cars, and birds. I also thinking that the 105 is too short for what you're saying you want to use if for unless your within a hundred feet or so, outside that you may want to use a 200mm minimum.

Q: 4. Hi, this lens can work with autofocus in video filming, for example in the t6i or the new Canon 80d? (touch the screen to focus)

A: Yes sure! this is an auto focus lense and will work perfectly with you auto focus camera. This is a really good lense. Enjoy.

Q: 5. I have this lens, but it's about 10-12 years old. I bought it with an old 5D Mark I.Mine has the exact same specs.IS and USM, etc.Has Canon updated this lens recently? New design and performance?

A: This lens is still being produced based on the same original design from when it was released about 10 years ago. No new versions have been released as of this point.

Q: 6. I was wondering if this lens is compatible with the Nikon D500 camera. Thank You!

A: Yes. Fantastic sharp lens. I have used on D500 many times!

Q: 7. How does the Sigma 105mm f/1.4 ART compare to the Nikon 105mm f1.4? Im looking to purchase for portraits on a Nikon D3 & D850.

A: I am in the process of evaluating and I decided on Nikon for several reasons: 1.size and weight are much less than sigma 105. 2. 82mm filter means I can buy an inexpensive adaptor and use the 95mm ND and polarizing filters I already own. 105mm filters are expensive. 3. Two of the web reviews noted many more out of focus pictures with sigma when the subject was moving toward camera. One had woman walk toward both lenses and found big difference. 4.Although Nikon isn't quite as sharp as the sigma, it is described as more sharp than my 85mm 1.4 Nikon which should be fine.

Q: 8. I have the old 105. This one is not a macro I take it...?

A: No, it is not a macro. I'm sure you could convert it to one with extension tubes, but haven't tried that.

Q: 9. How does it work with the Nikon Z7?

A: Hi, using the Nikon FTZ adapter, this lens will be fully compatible with the Z7: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1431716-REG/nikon_4185_ftz_mount_adapter.html

Q: 10. Will This Lens work with a Canon 60D body ?

A: Yes it would work with APSC and full frame cameras. Canon 60d is a APSC sensor camera and hence it will work.
