Q: 9. Hi. I m a student living in korea.I saw the kodak professional portra 400 color negative film (35mm roll film, 36exposures) that is being provided on your company's homepage. If i can buy this film, can you let me know portra 400s expiry date stocked lately?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 10. If I were using an Argus Seventy Five with this film, about how many exposures could I get from one roll?

A: Both the Argoflex Seventy-Five and Argus Seventy-Five use 620 film not 120 (120 and 620 film is exactly the same size). He have Porta 160 in 620 size, please use this B&H code in our search box: B&H # KOP160620. The cameras make square 6x6 images and will yield 12 frames on a single roll. Here is our complete selection of 620 films: http://bhpho.to/PQQOaH

Review HP5? What? Listen we all know HP-5, its a forgiving 400 speed film with lots of good general qualities, this review is about the fact that B and H has it in stock and you can get it in here in STL in like 3 days. Yes, for those old luddite's like me using 5x7 B and H is there with the stuff in stock.

As well as shooting this film in 4x5, I also shoot it in 5x7 and 8x10. I use it to do all my testing for this emulsion's characteristics. It's especially useful with my 8x10 monorail camera because of its higher film speed and unnoticeable grain.

Product is very similar to Kodak Tri-X Professional. Both develop close with HC-110 Dilution E.

Great large format film and responds well to push processing. Love shooting it at ISO 3200 and it is my go-to for BW LF film. Makes beautiful darkroom enlargements and digital scans. Contrast is beautiful and water especially looks lovely.

HP5+ is simply the most versatile, lovely and straightforward film on the market. It's all I need, from 35mm to 8x10. Be generous with your light, be stingy with your development (it loves XTOL), and it will show you how great it can be. Get away from me with your TMAX. I'm not interested.
