This 5-stop, 4 x 5.65" Tiffen Water White Glass Combination Hot Mirror/IRND Filter is a combination of both a hot mirror infrared control filter and a 1.5 neutral density filter. A hot mirror IRND is ideal for HD cameras, which have greater low-light sensitivity and, subsequently, an increased susceptibility to infrared contamination. When using a standard neutral density filter to counter the increased light sensitivity afforded by the HD sensor, the effects of infrared pollution become more apparent. This filter combines a neutral density filter with a comparable infrared control filter to eliminate the spill of infrared light reaching the sensor while still maintaining the extra exposure benefits of a neutral density filter. The hot mirror filtration incorporates a dielectric mirror in order to combat the effects of both near and far infrared regions of the spectrum.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

A: Frank, I am not sure about the Canon 600EX-RT as I am a Nikon user. I use my Nikon SB900 or SB910 with the FlextTT5 on the Ezybox. To do that, I setup the flash in the following manner because the front of the TT5 is too long to allow mounting the device onto the bracket. To be able to use the SB900/910 with the TT5 and with the mounting bracket and the Ezybox, I swivel the head of my flash by 180 degree so that the flash head fits inside the Ezybox and the control panel of the flash is facing the Ezybox,the Auto-Focus Illuminator panel of the SB910 is facing the the other direction. The SB910 is then mounted on the TT5 with the front (where it is written Pocketwizard) is facing backward. Then I am able to get the flash head to fit in the box and the TT5 is mounted on the bracket. Hope this helps.
