A: Apparently there are two versions of this lens. Series VII retaining ring should be 54mm so this step ring should get you to a 55mm filter size.

A: Is this a question or a statement?

Q: 4. I'm trying to mount 86mm coarse filters on a P6 45mm Hartblei Super Rotator. Is the 86mm side coarse threaded?

A: Unfortunately, the 86mm side is not shown as coarse threaded by the manufacturer.

A: No, stepping up 10mm's will not cause vignetting.

Q: 7. I need to step up from 48mm to 77mm. Can I use this ring in combination with a 58 to 77mm ring?

A: To mount 77mm filters on a lens with 48mm threads, you can use the Heliopan 48-58mm Step-Up Ring (#184) with any 58-77mm Step-Up Ring. Sensei PRO 58-77mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, BH #SESURPA5877, is a good option.

If you are the type that buys insurance this is the step-up ring for you. I have another (brand name) the Heliopan is world apart with regard to look and fill. Very expansive but you can't beat the quality.

I put this on my 35mm lens, so I can use my 77mm filters on it. Its brass, so the filters that screw onto it don't bind. I won't get anything none brass now since I screwed on a ND grad (polished aluminum) onto my B+W 10-stop (brass) and it got stuck...I didn't screw it on tight because I was worried of this. I managed to get it off luckily. Don't mess around with aluminum step-up rings, you will be happy you go with a solid brass one like this.

This ring is solid brass, very stout! I had a B&W step-up ring (constructed of aluminum) which got bent somewhere along the line. I had to hand-hold my polarizer on a trip to Switzerland, but I have no doubt that this one will last forever. Expensive, but cheaper in the long run.

Having switched from one system to another my old Heliopan Circular polarizer would not fit but this was the perfect answer. Not only saves you money but is built with the same quality I expected from Heliopan.

Use this occasionally as a step up ring on my Summilux 25mm f/1.4 (MFT) lens. Solid, nicely engineering and of course you pay for it. Looks like it will last a lifetime.

Got a good 72mm lens and bought the best filters? Save lots of money and gain peace of mind with a good quality step up like this one should you buy a 62mm like I did. The threads don't jam on either the lens or filters. It's not much more money for good performance and little worry.
