Q: 1. Silly question here but I am unfamiliar with this type of printing...does this include the ink as well as paper? This is for the DNP DS6204x6 4 x 6 Roll Media for DS620A Printer

A: Yes it does which is both good and bad. Quite often you wind up with a lot more paper than ink. Its typically better to go ahead and replace both together but that leads to a waste.

Q: 2. Can you manually change the printer to print wider images, like 6x12?

A: Not sure..used 6x8 once..

A: No, the DNP 6 x 8" Triple Strip Sticker Media Set for DS620A Printer (2-Pack) BH #DNS6206X8S3S is not compatible with the DS-RX1. You would need the DNP 6 x 8" Triple Strip Media Set for DS-RX1HS Printer (2 Rolls) BH #DNRX1HS6X83S.

Q: 4. As a sublimation printer, can it print pics to be transferred onto mugs or shirts if you use transfer paper instead of photo paper?

A: No, this can only use the ribbon and roll kits that are designed for this printer. They would not have any transfer paper options.

A: Typically paper like this has a pretty good shelf life. If you left it for up to a year we would recommend using fresh stock, but it should still be good for all applications if its left unused less than 1 year.

Q: 8. Can I install 4x6, 5x7, and 6x8 ribbons and paper in the DS80, and print with them, instead of buying a DS40?

A: No. The DS80, would only be able to print on 8x10 and 8x12 roll paper. But the DNP S80DX, would be able to print from a 4x8 - 8X12. I have attached that printer below.

Q: 9. Can it switch back and fourth between print sizes without having stop and switch out media sizes?

A: Yes! it's just your printing settings you need to adjust. Media kit has nothing to do with it. It will cut 2x6 or 4x6

Q: 10. I always ran out of the ribbon before the photopaper, I feel it's sich a waste. Do I have to always change the whole set( Ribbon and paper) or is it possible to just put a new ribbon in and keep using the rest of the paper till it rans out?

A: You want to change both at once. It's designed for that. At the end of the roll, you have a couple of feet more. The print packs are always sold with both paper and ribbon, so you really wouldn't gain anything except a big headache. I suspect that the extra footage is for when you have the 8x10 print pack. The ribbon has to be different to accommodate 8x12, but they can just use the same paper roll for both. It also wastes paper when you first insert a roll by slicing off pieces while it registers the position of the paper.
