The AT4022 Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone from Audio-Technica features a low-profile design and a small-diaphragm condenser element. The microphone's sensitivity, frequency response, and SPL capabilities allow for use with speaker cabinets, vocals, percussion instruments, drums, and spot placement on guitars, and stringed instruments. The omnidirectional polar pattern provides a wide pickup area and preserves the integrity of the signal. An 80 Hz high-pass filter switch reduces low frequencies and associated noise, and a -10 dB Pad switch provides additional headroom and minimizes distortion when capturing transient (peaking) audio signals. The package includes microphone stand clamp, a windscreen, and a protective carrying case.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Please, does it come with a lens cap?

A: no

Q: 2. Can you charge with portable charger or does it have to be wall outlet?

A: The battery this camcorder uses will require an AC outlet to charger it. We do have the GOAL ZERO Yeti 150 Portable Power Station with an AC connection you could use, BH #GOGZ22004. https://bhpho.to/2IFomvG

Q: 3. What power cord/cable would I use to connect the camera to external power at a distance for remote shooting?

A: This camcorder ships with an AC Power Supply. From there you could use any standard AC Power Extension Cord, such as B&H # WAACE1650BU which is 50 feet long. https://bhpho.to/2Q7F2NR

Q: 4. Does this camera ship with the updated firmware that allows for 120FPS recording? Or will I have to update it manually?

A: Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to be able to inspect the camera and the firmware version installed on it. It is not uncommon that from the time a camera leaves the manufacturer overseas and then arrives to the customer that a new firmware version may be released. Firmware updates are posted on manufacturers websites and are easy to perform. We always recommend that when receiving a new model camera, to check its firmware version to the most recent version posted on the manufacturers website.

Q: 5. Does this have slow motion and fast motion recording function?

A: The JVC GY-HM170UA does not have a specific function for slow or fast motion, but when recording in 60 frames per second (fps), a video could be slowed down in editing, if using a 30 fps or 24 fps project. Any video could also be sped up in editing.

Q: 6. Does this camera do date/time stamp for doing legal video/depositions?

A: Yes, this camera does time/date for legal video.

Q: 7. Whats your opinion on the HM170UA vs the Canon XA20. Obviously the canon is only HD.I like the touch screen for focus and facial recognition. I'm mainly looking to film weddings. So low light is a concern and accurate focus. Can anyone voice an opinion on these questions / concerns? Thanks!

A: The impression I get with this camera is that it is a deal. It has features that just a few years ago were impossible to get at all, let alone under $1300. It has XLR mic inputs, 4K, 4:2:2 1080p Video up to 60p at 50 Mbps, built in ND filters, and independent gain control. Those features are a steal in this price range. It appears however that the videographer has to bring skill for shooting in low light. You have to recognize the difference between low light and bad light. No camera is going to make bad light look good. Be ready for using an on camera light. You do not have to use it full blast, just enough to a pleasant low key exposure. The Canon XA20, on the other hand, has big fans for it's quality of manufacture, features, reliability and image quality. If you do not want 4K, that might be the way to go.

Q: 8. Is it possible to change the battery while recording? Suppose one wants to use batteries only for a long running event and only plug in before changing the battery and unplug afterwards? Is that possible?

A: Yes. You can plug in an external 12V power supply or battery while changing the onboard battery,

Q: 9. You wrote the only difference between HM170 and HM170UA is the top handle unit included in UA. But I can't find in HM170UA's specs 25fps recording mode, only 24, 30 or 60fps. Does it 25fps? I live in Hungary, most of the time I have to make standard PAL DVD too from my HD recordings, that's why I need 25fps. If the HM170UA could do 25fps, possibly I'd order one.Sadly that range of JVC pro cameras (handheld size) absolutely not known in this area (I talk not about TV companies, only the stand alone pro shooters, or smaller studios, included mine). We prefer Sony, Canon or sometimes Panasonic, none of my colleagues use pro JVC camcorder. It's hard to find footages or tests on youtube about HM170 or HM200, and the few I found were not convincing. If I could even test one, or work with for a couple of weeks, I could advise or suggest my colleagues, my acquaintance to switch to JVC, if they want to upgrade to 4K. (Lot of them thinking on it, not mainly for 4K, rather downscale to 1080 for highly detailed result.)I have to test one, It's too big risk to buy unknown.

A: This camera can shoot in both PAL and NTSC Modes.

Q: 10. Does this camera include a battery charger? Does it charge the battery connected with the battery?

A: Same as the other answers. Charge in the camera with AC Adapter. Battery will last about a few hours (I think), so you may want an extra or two if you are doing long shoots.
