The white Manfrotto HiLite Illuminated Background is a unique way to achieve high key photographs. This inventive system allows the photographer to minimize lighting scenarios while achieving spectacular results.

The HiLite Background is different in that it permits you to place your strobe head INSIDE the background, completely directing the light to the background and filling it with white light. No more worrying about 'spill' or having to test to see if the background light is positioned correctly since the background will be evenly lit. Furthermore, because the background is actually illuminated it means the subject can stand virtually right in front of it without casting a shadow.

This system also works as a rear softbox and can illuminate your subject as well. This means you can simply use use one other light in the front and you're ready to shoot.

Q: 1. Is this good for vinyl backdrops like Savage 9' x 20' ?

A: I use mine for vinyl. The legs support the weight fine. With the legs extended to full height is gets a bit wobbly so use sandbags. The cross bar sags under the weight. My vinyl has a lightweight core, if it was heavier it would probably help to lessen the sag.

A: Cross bar is 1 diameter. This stand works great with our backdrop.

A: The mounting thread on this monopod has a smaller mounting thread inside the larger one. You just have to push down on the edge of the larger one to expose the smaller one on the inside.

A: Yes this umbrella does work with the Lastolite Brolly Grip.

A: Yes it will hold this weight but the crossbar it can bow down a little bit

A: The MT190X3 does not have the Q90 center column which would allow it to extend horizontally. The version of this tripod that does have that feature is the MT190XPRO3.

Q: 10. I just bought it but I am uncertain about the center column for the side stands. The instructions indicate to keep them low center of gravity, however the center pole is touching the floor when the legs are extended so if the floor is not fully flat it would not be stable... How are the legs suppose to work with these stands?

A: Sounds like you didnt fully extend the legs. I have two of these system and have not yet run into this issue. As a note about flat floors. These do not have leveling legs so an uneven surfaces are tough to work with
