The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is tan and features a 4-pin Push-lock connector for Lightspeed transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 2mm Diameter Duramax Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Q: 1. Will this mic work with a dual hot shoe splitter on an a7riii? I want to use it alongside a small video light that has it's own power, so only one side has to be hot for the mic. And does the dual hot shoe need to be specifically for Sony cameras? Thanks for the help.

A: Unfortunately a multi-interface splitter does not exist as far as we have seen. In order to use a microphone along with a light, my best advice would be to select a different microphone that allows a cable to run into the microphone input on the camera. These are two possible microphones that would work in a similar price range. B&H # ROVIDEOMICRO and POSCL1075.

Q: 2. does this mic work on the Nikon d3300? if so what settings do i need?

A: Yes it should work on the d3300. The only settings that I can tell you about is to read how it will need to be setup from the D3300 manual. It's pretty much a plug and play type of microphone. I would suggest that if the camera has a 3.5mm earphone jack (in addition to the one that you will be plugging this into to record through). You should use an extra set of headphones to adjust your audio levels while recording and listen to the audio so it won't be too loud or soft.

Q: 3. Does this mike fit the HDR-PJ580 shoe?

A: No, the Sony ECM-GZ1M is not compatible with the HDR-PJ580 camcorder. The ECM-GZ1M can only be used with Sony cameras that include their Multi Interface Shoe. It does not work with the Active Interface Shoe featured on the HDR-PJ580V.

Q: 4. is this compatible with the sony FDR-AX43 UHD 4K Handycam?

A: Yes the Sony FDR-AX43 is directly compatible with the Sony ECM-GZ1M microphone.

Q: 5. Will this work on the 90D?

A: Yes, The Rode Video Mic will work with the Canon 90D

Q: 6. Will this work with a Nikon D7100?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 7. Will this be compatible with the A3000? If it is, how good will it be for picking up voices?

A: The Sony ECM-GZ1M Zoom Microphone for Cameras with Multi-Interface Shoe will be compatible with any camera with the multi-interface shoe, including the Sony a3000. It would be a good option for picking up voices of subjects in front of the camera.

Q: 8. Apologies for an unresolved googling, Is this compatible with my still fabulous Sony PXW-Z90 camcorder in digital mode?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-B1M Camera-Mount Digital Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony PXW-Z90 Camcorder when set for digital mode.

Q: 9. Will it work with the Canon XA10 and similar cameras with the external XLR audio inputs?

A: The VideoMicro is not compatible with the XA-10 camera. The VideoMicro is not able to be adapted to XLR. It requires plug-in power which can only be provided by an 1/8 mic connection.

Q: 10. does this work if channel 3&4 on the sony fs7 camera ?

A: Yes it does.
