The Tiffen 77mm Digital Diffusion/FX 1 Filter is a softening and diffusion filter specifically meant to appear invisible, as if no filtration is being applied. Compared to other diffusion filters, this filter offers virtually no flare or loss of contrast for more subtle applications. It helps to lessen facial blemishes, wrinkles, and gently smooth textured backgrounds while maintaining sharp focus. The 1 density provides more softening than the 1/2, but less than the 2.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

A: You can not change the lens on this camera. It is fixed.

Q: 2. Does the camera have the ability for manual focus and zoom?

A: Yes, you can configure controls for both items.

Q: 3. Does auto-focus work while shooting video?

A: Yes, since this camera is not a DSLR, it is capable of continuously focusing during the recording of video.

Q: 4. What is the maximum rectangular dimension size of the field of view at the closest macro lens setting of 17 cm? I.e., what is the largest area that can be photographed at the closest macro focal plane?

A: Leica Q2 Monochrom Digital Camera has a macro focus range of 17cm. You can covered an area of 5.5'' in the horizontal axis at the minimun focal lenght.

Q: 5. There's a small button on the camera-back, below the shutter speed dial. By default is selects various cropping sizes. It can be customizable though. Can you set this button to be a back-focus button, instead of pressing halfway on the shutter button on the camera's top?

A: According to page 149 of the Leica Q2 Monochrom Digital Camera's instruction manual, the Zoom/Lock button on the back of the camera may be programmed for use as Digital Zoom or as Metering Memory Lock (AEL/AFL, AEL, AFL). Page 47 states how to adjust the settings. It states the factory setting is Digital Zoom, but you may alternatively assign automatic exposure metering and/or metering memory lock to the Zoom/Lock button. It states select [Customize Control] in the main menu, select [Zoom/Lock button] in the submenu, then select [Digital Zoom], [AEL/AFL], [AEL], or [AFL]. To access the assigned menu function, press the Zoom/Lock button briefly.

Q: 8. Which has the best noise settings feature for a bridge camera the Nikon Cool Pix 1000 or the Sony RX10M4?

A: The P1000 camera has a 1/23" sensor while the RX10 Mk IV has a 1" sensor, so on paper the RX10 Mk IV has far superior low-light sensitivity. However, this comes with a hit to lens focal length; the P1000 has a 24-3000mm lens and the RX10 Mk IV has a 24-600mm. Depending on your subject matter, each camera's mileage may vary.

Q: 9. Does it have face detection for auto focus?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 10. Does this have a S-LOG (or similar) mode for video, so it can be colour graded in post?

A: No, LOG gamma curves are not available in this level of consumer camera.
