A: Yes it can be used in Chile on the little box that has the plug that you plug into the wall in says input volts 100-240 output 24 volts. I bought mine from B & H and I live in California and it says mine will work on both 110 to 240Leo

A: yes, just don't install the Epson software. Doesn't cause any issues. If you want to use both (or have both on your computer) ensure you download the Epson software first THEN the third party software. Sometimes installing another software prior to installing the Epson software can cause issues with the third party software. For me silverfast wouldn't work until i uninstalled both and then reinstalled them in the correct order. Now i just use silverfast because it is just as easy and quick to use.

Q: 8. The scanner itself is very good, the SilverFast 8 SE Plus software is the worst I have ever seen. I cannot scan anything except prints, the software will not go to the proper items ( negative & slide) at all. I have loaded this to my iMac 3 times so far w/o any luck. I got more out of YouTube than the software manual. Anybody else have this problem?

A: I gave up on SilverFast (although I only was using it for prints) and use the included Epson software now. I did have some luck after updating the SilverFast software to the latest version, so be sure you've done that.
