This is what keeps it slipping when recomposing your shot. Many of the Nikon lenses have two mounting holes, thus we include the two screws with the 3 inch plate even though it works with many other brands of lenses. A: First of all let me thank you for your question. Our camera plates are camera specific. One plate may fit more than one camera it depends on how the camera manufacturer molds the bottom of the camera. When a new camera comes out we try to find one of our existing camera plate that will work with the new camera body. If the manufacturer of the camera changes the body style we have to make a new camera plate that will fit properly , clears the battery door and it is centered for that specific camera. Camera specific plate are great if you want to prevent the plate from rotating on the camera body when you have a heavy lens or setup.If this is not a concern for you we do offer a generic camera plate #2128 that will fit any standard camera, it may require you to remove the plate from the camera when changing cards or batteries if the generic camera plate is blocking the battery door. At this time, Acratech states they do not have a plate designed for use with the Nikon MB-D17 battery grip for use with the Nikon D500.
