A: No, the Olympus LC-37C will not work if placed on the thread of a filter, it will only work when mounted directly on the lens.

A: No, but it will work with the older 17mm, the f/2.8. There's a short, wordless YouTube video that shows it working correctly on that lens.

A: It will work with the M.Zuiko ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ (only!) on any Micro Four-Thirds body (including the E-M5). It opens when the lens extends, closes when it contracts.
