Q: 1. Will the 1.4 extender AF work with 70-200mm 1:4 L IS USM and my EOS Rebel T5?
A: Yes it will work with that lens.
Q: 2. I'm planning to buy the canon EF 1.4X III extender . i have the Canon EF-300 mm f/2.8 L USM II mounted on Canon 1Dx. When the EF 1.4X III attached, do i need to turn off my EF-300 mm f/2.8 L USM II Image Stabilizer OFF?
A: There are a few things to consider. The 300 mm f/2,8 aperture with the 1.4x attached yields an effective aperture of f/4. So you've cut down on the light gathering capability by one-half. And your 300 mm focal length is now effectively 420 mm, with a corresponding narrower FOV... so any camera/lens movement is exaggerated. The camera's AF sensors operate best when they have as much light as possible... as with a large aperture. That being said, unless you're in a low light situation, you will probably not have any problem locking focus at f/4, and very high shutter speeds are still achievable with an appropriate ISO setting. If you are using the lens on a tripod (with or without the 1.4x attached) you should turn IS off. If you are hand holding the lens with or without the 1.4x, you can keep IS ON. However, if you are using the lens (with or without the 1.4x) to take shots of fast moving subjects (like birds-in-flight) AND if you are shooting at very high shutter speeds in burst mode (like, perhaps, 1/2500 sec or faster) you can choose to turn IS OFF simply because the computation that is performed to stabilize the image in the horizontal and vertical axes may slow down your high speed burst mode just a bit. At very high shutter speeds you should be able to freeze motion without requiring IS to be ON. Many Pro's recommend turning IS OFF when in high speed burst mode AND when shooting at high shutter speeds for that reason. However, like other aspects of DSLR photography, it also depends on how well the photographer can control smooth panning, maintain a good solid stance when hand-holding the camera and lens, and pressing the shutter release button gently to minimize camera shake... each of which can contribute to soft images with or without the 1.4x.. Hope this helps.
Q: 3. will this work on Canon R 7 with ef-r adapter with ef lenses?
A: If you use a Canon teleconverter on a Canon lens with a Canon camera, it should work. However, it works according to the"rules of teeconverters" which means that most cameras will not autofous if the aperture goes above an F8. When you use a 1.4 extender, you lose 1 stop on the lens. If the higher aperture was a 5.6, 1 stop would take it to an f8 and you'd still be ok. But if the lens was already an f8 or slower, you'd lose autofocus. The other thing to worry about is that not all lenses will physically fit on a teleconverter. That protruding section (I like to call it a nose) might impact the back of the lens which is not a good thing. So, you have to check if the particular EF lens is compatable with the teleconverter. If it is, the EOS R adapter will let you mount it on the camera.
Q: 4. I recently purchased a Canon 5D Mark III and EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens. The lens manual says it is compatible with the EF 1.4X II extender, so I assume it would also be compatible with the EF 1.4X III. I would just like to verify this before purchasing. Thank you.
A: Yes, this lens is also compatible with the EF 1.4x III extender.
Q: 5. Will this allow my 70-200 F2.8 to still shoot at F2.8 on a Canon 5D or 7D please? thanks.
A: I have the 70-200 f2.8 with the 2x extender and works with my 5D or 7D. Keep in mind that the 2x extender will drop it to 5.6
Q: 6. will it allow AF with the 100-400mm L Ef Lens?
A: I have the latest 100-400 L (2?). Since putting it on, i have not taken it off. It is a potent combination: longer reach and crystal clear photos.
Q: 7. Will the Canon Extender EF 1.4x III work well with the original 7D and the original EF 100-400mm L lens?
A: I had the II extender and it did install the 7D to the 100-400L but it would not auto focus. That is why I got the new 100-400L.
Q: 8. Will the Canon 2x III work with the Sigma 70-200 f2.8?
A: Unfortunately, the Extender EF 2X III is not compatible with a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.
Q: 9. Will autofocus work with a 5d mk iv and the Ef100-400 4.5-5.6 L IS?
A: Yes the Canon Extender EF 1.4X III will work with the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM on the Canon 5d Mark IV. Note it will only use the center focus points on the camera.
Q: 10. Will autofocus work with a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens on an EOS Rebel T61?
A: Yes, just be mindful that power is being pulled from the Canon eos rebel t61 so we usually suggest a extended battery grip to support the af drive system. Please review the following item Canon BG-E18 Battery Grip for EOS Rebel T6i & T6s BH #CABGE18 • MFR #0050C001 https://bhpho.to/3vkTedn
