A: I use my RH353 with a Manfrotto 5001BAC...had some difficulty attaching the clamp to the top section of the light stand, as the diameter of the light stand pole seemed a bit too large for the RH353's clamp. Ultimately got it to work, though. Used indoors only with a 40 collapsible reflector attached with the holder at approx. 90 degrees to the light stand, and the whole rig was very stable. BobH

A: The actual opening when fully closed, of the large hole, is inch. It should work correctly for a 1 size pole.
