The Tiffen 95mm Coarse Thread Center Spot Filter is a softening filter that allows you to maintain sharp, clear focus in the center of the image while blurring the perimeter of the frame. This helps to isolate your central subject matter while softening the surrounding areas.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

I bought this cap to replace a lost Canon cap. As I normally use a lens hood, the OEM side pinch Canon cap was something of a pain at times. I find this center pinch cap convenient to use and that it is a definite improvement of the OEM cap. Canon now makes a center pinch replacement cap, at an exorbitant price. This Sensei cap appears to be well make and works perfectly, and fits securely on my Canon 17-14 mm L lens. Not having the Canon logo displayed across the front is no big deal. It now appears a fortunate accident that I lost the original cap, as I now have a better working combo, for a very modest price. I have since ordered a second cap, just in case I should ever misplace my replacement cap! 5

I like the pinch-snap feature. It' a little bulkier than my regular lens cap but it actually has a more secure, snug fit. I don't have to worry about it popping off accidently. I worry about that with the one from Canon. 5
