The non-rotating Tiffen 125mm Coarse Thread 85 Ultra Pol Linear Polarizer Filter combines both an 85 color conversion filter with a linear polarizing filter to blend the effects of both filter types into a single, convenient solution.

The 85 color conversion aspect of the filter provides a warming effect and decreases the color temperature from 5500K to 3400K, allowing the use of tungsten balanced film in daylight conditions.

The Ultra Pol linear polarizing aspect of the filter helps to greatly reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A linear polarizer differs from a circular polarizer in that it does not supports use of a camera's autofocus or auto exposure functions; it is best suited for use with manual cameras, such as view cameras, that are not dependent on internal mechanisms to determine focus or metering settings.

There is a total filter factor of about 6x, requiring an increase of 2.6 stops for normal exposure. Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings. The non-rotating design of this filter is best-suited for use with lens hoods, adapters, or other rings for rotational control over the polarizing substrate.

Ultra Pol linear polarizer and 85 amber color conversion filter combination.

Total filter factor of approximately 6x requires 2.6 stops of additional exposure for normal results.

Warming 85 color conversion filter decreases color temperature from 5500K to 3400K for using tungsten-balanced film in daylight conditions.

Polarizer helps to greatly reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.

Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.

Strongest polarizing effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun.

Compared to a standard polarizer, the Ultra Pol design strives to increase the polarizing effect for enhanced reduction of reflections and greater color saturation.

Non-rotating design is best-suited to use with lens hoods or adapter rings in order to best control the polarizing effect of the filter.

Q: 1. My church has asked me to recommend gear setup for live streaming their services to Facebook or YouTube. I see this camera is recommended online. Just to confirm though, does this camera stream over a wireless network so a PC or tablet can combine more than one stream? All I can find on the streaming of this camera is how it streams to USTREAM. And that's now an IBM paid service. We just want to stream it directly to Facebook or YouTube, or to a mixing app that will then combine footage and stream a final version out. Can this camera stream like this locally directly to an app or software like VLC?

A: no it cannot do that. look into connecting the output to a usb or internal capture card connected to a computer then it will work perfectly. try the elgato hd60 series or the higher price aja u tap

Q: 2. Can you use the Panasonic software to make a 1080P disk from a 4K file to share with those folks that don't have 4k TVs yet?

A: Yes the camera can take 4K videos and scale them so they play back on a normal 1080p television.

Q: 3. can i use this camera to livestream in cleen feed, whitout any display or text on screen?

A: Yes you can. You will be able to turn off the screen info on the HDMI output from this camcorder.

Q: 4. Has anyone used this camera for multiple-hour length HDMI streams in 1080 or 4k? Any issues with stability or overheating?

A: As a camcorder this product is designed to run for as long as the memory card and battery installed will allow. There should not be any overheating issues when using this camcorder for streaming events.

Q: 5. does this item have auto focus?

A: The Panasonic HC-VX870 4K Ultra HD Camcorder does have an auto focus lens.

Q: 6. Can you record via plugging in a power cord versus only having battery power? My old Sony camera allows you to charge the battery on the camera... which also provides power to the camera at the same time. thanks

A: Yes. Absolutely. I purchased it for our lawyers who present day or two day long law CLE trainers for NY lawyers to stay licensed. Each presenter does about an hour or two, so it's mandatory that we use the power adapter. Also, I'd add that I got this camera for the lawyers and support staff to have so they could record very easily without having to worry about settings. It works fantastic for that purpose. It does have manual settings, but I have it configured for them to just turn it on and record. We've presented six trainers so far and every minute has been recorded perfectly. One gripe is that the SD card slot is hard to get to without taking the camera off the tripod, but low light is good, the mic is very sensitive, it records in 4k. It's a very good camcorder for the price.

Q: 7. Does this camera record 4:2:2 color or 4:2:0? Thanks!

A: The AVCHD modes are well defined and use 4:2:0 sampling. The MP4 modes are not so well defined but share the MPEG 4 base so most likely do the same. The iFrame mode is Apple's oddball 540P format based on the h.264(AVCHD) MPEG CoDec, so all the VX870 motion video modes share similar lineage. The images can be pretty good, given the small size of the imager and the resulting sensitivity/video noise price that you pay for being able to carry it around undetected. The manual modes make getting decent images easier and the focus assist makes it possible to get some shots that are actually pretty well in focus. You could do a lot worse. cheers, crc

Q: 8. Does it have a, outgoing HDMI port?I plan to use it with a Blackmagic Ultrastudio mini recorder for livestream session.

A: Well, I was very surprised today when I tried to both record in 4k and use the HDMI out to live stream into a Sling camera link. The HDMI goes dark as soon as the record button is pressed! On a hunch, I switched record mode from 4k to 1080p, and it worked. And the HDMI out is a micro HDMI, not mini. I had to buy a special cable to connect to the Sling wireless camlink. I really need the 4k recording because it's a stationary camera that usually needs lots of cropping in post. The manual says nothing about this limitation.

Q: 9. ¿Can I do Facebook lives or recording using programs like Xsplit connecting this camcorder by USB port? ¿full HD?

A: You cannot connect this camcorder to a computer through USB for live streaming. However you can connect it to an HDMI Capture Device for streaming. The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Gen 2 is even compatible with XSplit. https://bhpho.to/2bflouA

Q: 10. Can the 4k mp4 data files on the SD card be viewed directly on a Sony X85B 4k TV via USB? Can the files be edited using Sony Movie Studio Platinum? How does the rolling shutter performance compare to the Sony AX100?

A: Yes
