The Tiffen 55mm Nude/FX 6 Filter is a skin tone enhancing filter that provides gentle warmth to the image and helps to smooth out blemishes. This filter works by infusing the background areas of the scene with the filter tone and blending the skin tones with additional warmth. The 6 density provides more skin tone enhancement than the 5.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens automatically start focusing in video mode without halfway pushing down the shutter button? Thanks!

A: as long as the AF is not set to manual, the AF function continues to operate while in video recording mode.

Q: 2. When this lens is used on a6000, I saw the SteadyShot cannot be turned on. Is this normal?

A: No- something is not working or you are not setting the correct function. You have to set the focal length for stabilization first pressing the rear wheel button and then dialing in the focal length.

Q: 3. What size of the filter should i buy for this lense? a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/900278-REG/Hoya_anxt55uv_55mm_NXT_UV_Haze.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/900278-REG/Hoya_anxt55uv_55mm_NXT_UV_Haze.html/a

A: 49mm

Q: 4. How is this lens different from the previous 18-55 EF-S, other than a slightly smaller maximum aperture (f/4 versus previous f/3.5)?

A: There are a few differences between this lens and the f/3.5-5.6 versions. First, its size is about 20% smaller. Second is the lens extends in a linear motion when zooming in and out. There is no moving back and forth of the front element. I find this makes for a smoother zoom action when doing video. Third is the rear of the lens is sealed with a glass plate or element so the chance of getting dust in the lens is greatly reduced. Overall, the build quality is good for a kit lens. Optically, I can't say if it is better but I find it is a very good performer for such an inexpensive lens. It is surprisingly sharp and I haven't noticed the f/4.0 on the wide end being an issue. It has very good image stabilization so this helps. Plus, IQ is very good for a kit lens. I use it way more than I thought I would.

Q: 5. Is this Lens compatible with the Sony FS700?

A: Yes, this lens is compatible with the Sony FS700.

Q: 6. The listing says that it's MFT, just wanting to confirm that it will work with the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K? I'm also curious about recommended focus/zoom/iris controls for a live broadcast setup?

A: The BMD Studio Camera 4K does have an MFT mount. These lenses will work with that camera. However they are manual cinema lenses. For Focus, Zoom and Iris Control you would need to look at a system like the Tilta Nucleus-M and add a 3rd motor to it. Q: 7. is there much of a noticible difference when using this lens vs the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens?

A: The main difference with this lens is the Stepping Motor for quiet autofocus while shooting video. Otherwise, the optical quality is the same as the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II.

Q: 8. Will this work on a7r or rII?

A: Yes, this is a full frame Sony E mount lens and will fit on both the A7R and A7R II.

Q: 9. Will this lens be a good upgrade from my 80d's kit lens? I need it to perform good good for stills and video especially with autofocus.

A: Not sure what comes with the 80D kit, but this is a fantastic wide angle lens and never dissappoints me, even in less than desirable conditions. I'm not much for video, but my guess is that it will perform beyond your expectations.

Q: 10. Has anyone used this lens with the LEE Filter System? Any vignetting or reflection issues?

A: No reflection issues specific to this configuration, i use this lens and lee filter system with compendium. Reflection depends a lot on light source and angle as well - you'll get reflections if you are shooting directly into the sun
