The Easyrig Cinema 3 200N Gimbal Rig is a body-worn support system for camera operators working with handheld motorized gimbal rigs weighing 8 to 13 lb. The system works by using a suspension line to support the weight of the gimbal rig, taking the load off your shoulder, neck, and arm muscles, and distributing it across your torso. This lets you shoot for longer periods of time without worrying about arm fatigue. The system consists of the Gimbal Rig Vest, 200N shock absorber, and a standard support arm. As the name suggests, the Gimbal Rig Vest is optimized for use with motorized gimbal stabilizers, providing increased lower back support that allows you to carry weights further away from your body. Also included is a carrying bag for convenient storage and transport of the Easyrig system.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The easyrig requires two. Does this come with two or just one?

A: Hi Jonathan, Thank you for your email. An official Easyrig only requires one Shock Absorber for operation, therefore this item only has one (1) included. If you own an Easyrig that requires more than one shock absorber, I would make sure that it is not an off-brand duplicate. If you have any additional questions, please contact 16x9 Inc. at (661)295-3313 or info@16x9inc.com.

Q: 2. Are vests interchangeable? We have male and female operators at our company with vastly different waist sizes

A: The vest that comes with the Easyrig Vario 5 Standard Cinema Flex Vest with 5" Extended Top Bar is not interchangeable.

Q: 3. would this work with a camera that will weight around 14-17lbs?

A: It will not, the minimum capacity for this system is 17 pounds. If you are going to be in the 14-17 pound range you'd want to look at the Easyrig Cinema 3 300N instead, which is between 11 to 17 pounds. https://bhpho.to/2WKc2Qd

Q: 4. Does this item comes with a flowcine serene pre-installed?Cause its mentions on the name of the product Easyrig Vario 5 Vest with Flowcine Serene Pre-Installed B&H # EAVGRSE with the price of 6860$ and than I have the same option with the price 7069$ with the number B&H # EAVGRSEEXTso what is the difference between them if the both names are saying the flowcine serene pre-installed?

A: The more expensive package includes the Serene Extension. This extension, which works in 10mm increments, allows you to find the perfect distance the camera can be from your body. More information is here: https://bit.ly/2GKcVPP

Q: 5. Are you able to adjust the extended arm? I'm 5'7 and with the Minimax, I find myself to short for taller talent. But how comfortable is the extended arm in most cases?

A: The extended arm has a 4 inch / 20mm adjustment. The manual on the product page contains detaled instructions on all adjustmens. Click on the overview and read the manual on right side of the page.

Q: 6. Especially for documentary work, would this be a recommended option for the new Sony fx9 (with the extension unit, v-mount batteries, external monitor, etc.)?

A: This system is designed to work with a camera set up between 11 to 38 pounds. Just as long as the camera rig you have set up is between 11 to 38 pounds this system will work very well.

Q: 7. Is the vest one size fits all?

A: For the most part, yes. I'm a relatively smaller dude... 5'9 155lbs. It fits me nicely, but all of the straps are as tight as they can go. If you are smaller it'd likely be difficult to get a snug fit. It looks very expandable from there though. My 6'2 220lbs. friend used it no problem. So if you are bigger/taller you'd be fine. Not sure what the upper ceiling is for weight/height. All straps are adjustable seem to conform to various body types. Hope this helps!

Q: 8. going to order one of these, was wondering which size arm to get- is it more based on the body of the cameraman/ type of camera rig/ or type of movement?

A: Arm selection is mostly based on type of camera. No extension=ENG handlheld camera over your shoulder. 5 Extension=for handheld cameras like RED or caged DSLR. 9 extension is for very large cameras. You also have to select the weight so that the string matches the load as well. Having used the Easyrig I can say it is a useful tool. In certain situations, it is the only one to use.

Q: 9. Can anyone recommend a hard case option for flying with the Vario 5?

A: For the Easyrig Vario 5 with Gimbal Rig Vest and 5- Extended Arm, the Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black) (BH #PE1650FB), would support the dimensions of the Easyrig, when disassembled. https://bhpho.to/3cM3vJT

Q: 10. I'm wanting to get an easy rig along with serene and ronin 3 axis gimbal. This seems to be the ideal vest. The work I will be doing with it will range from television/feature film work where an Alexa or similar would be on board but also there would be some doc work where perhaps I am using something like a C300 or Sony FS7. My question is whether the 9 extended arm is suited for all these cameras? Also if you wanted to use the easy rig without the ronin, can this same vest be used in a more classic easy rig hand held camera configuration? Just trying to balance one system for these two worlds

A: I can't speak to all the cameras but I shoot RED and Sony often with this. Its actually more useful as a hand held than with the ronin for me personally. While its very useful with the Ronin, a great deal of shots are limited by its range. I find myself shooting closer to the ground than the easy rig allows comfortably.
