A: This lens is a menual focus lens. If your camera has the MF and AF switch you may have to tourn on the right switch (MF) to Make it work. I have a Sony a6000 which has no problem at all. In fact I just came back from long trip using this lens, the pictures are very sharp and beautiful.

A: This would not make a good monitor for a computer desktop. You would need HDMI to SDI converters and the resolution would need to match. And quite small for a desktop.
