Q: 1. This looks like a two axis stabilizer so want to confirm if two or three and if three can i make it a two axis only to add onto steadicam to keep pan control on steadicam only and this to serve like a trinity style head with roll and tilt stabilized and if so can i control tilt somehow like trinity head? Also would a light derigged c300 mark iii with L series glass such as a 14mm2.8L be ok on this weight wise?

A: it is a 3 axis system with the helix 4th Axis bracket. According to the manufacturer "The Helix 4th Axis Bracket from Letus allows you to use your Helix camera stabilizer on 3rd party camera supports such as tripods, vest/arm type supports and optional Easy Rigs when using optional accessories. The 4th axis bracket features a built-in main bearing on the cross bar for free rotation and two risers that accept bearings that allow for tilt rotation. You mount the included bearings and o-rings onto your Helix stabilizer and then fit your Helix into the 4th axis's risers, securing them with the four included M5 set screws. At this point, you can mount the entire rig onto a Steadicam-type rig, using an optional spacer, onto a tripod with the optional spacer and Devitte mount, or to an Easy Rig (not included) using an optional top handle. The crossbar incorporates 6x threaded 1/4"-20 accessory mounting points." so it can be mounted on a steadicam in the manner you have described. the Helix Pro will support a C300MKiii or a C500MKii

Q: 2. Will this hold an Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k? With a lens & battery I’m under 16lbs, but not sure if it will support the form factor.

Q: 3. Can this unit be remote controlled? How much is the RC? Is there software to adjust the unit like the Movi? Can it be on my iMac portable, iPad or iPhone or must it be on my desktop? How hard to adjust is it? I was told by their engineer that they were updating the 3 axis units with a sturdier control board/circuit board. Was this done? A: Yes, the Helix can be remote controlled by a RC control if you purchase the 2nd Operator mode. Futaba is a well regarded brand of remote controllers that we sell. The number of channels and the frequencies need to be determined before purchasing. Prices for the Futaba start around $165.00. You can access the Helix for adjustments via the Bluetooth Module.We suggest that, while they can be added later, getting both the 2nd Operator Mode and the Bluetooth module installed beforehand is a very good idea since they can only be added by Letus technicians.Since the Helix is only on pre-order at this time, you will be assured of getting the very latest version.

Q: 4. Follow up question in regards to the Letus 35 and the Letus Pro- what is the difference/better for the Sony FX9?

A: The Letus35 Helix 3-Axis Camera Stabilizer with Bluetooth/RC Modules is designed for camera setups weighing up to 16 lb while the Letus35 Letus Helix Pro is designed for setups weighing up to 20 lb along with a front support ring to eliminate flex. Considering the size of the Sony FX9, the Pro version may be a better choice.

This is such an amazing little piece of gear. Makes it quick and easy to pop on and off gear from my rig (articulating arms, monitors, audio recorders, etc). No need to spin your monitor or friction arm around in circles every time you need to put it on and off. Great is great quality and the safety pins are great as well. BUT the only issues I've had seems to be with quality control of the products from Wooden Camera. So I've ordered this nato rail, the nato rail friction arm as well as two RED pogo to pogo plugs. There has been an issue with every single piece I've received. Both NATO packages had badly machined screws and one pogo was missing screws and the other had faulty thumb screws. Wooden Cameras service was amazingly quick and replaced the screws in a second. I'm still waiting to see what they do with the pogos. So as a product itself I give it 5 stars. Wooden Camera's service is also 5 stars so far. But I'd say overall consistency of all of their products being made to standard is 2 STARS. 5
