Q: 1. Can you daisy chain two of these drives and configure in a RAID 5?

A: Hi Caitlin, the version you are looking at there is configured with a soft RAID, and is designed for RAID 1 or 0.You used to be able to configure the RAID in Apple Disk Utility, but the feature was removed in El Capitan. Even if you were to connect to a machine running Yosemite, you still would not be able to reconfigure two units daisy chained as a RAID 5.With a 3rd party software it maybe possible, but by now price wise you would be better going with the sensible solution, and buying a 4 bay unit.https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048664-REG/g_technology_0g03298_g_speed_studio_r_thunderbolt.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048664-REG/g_technology_0g03298_g_speed_studio_r_thunderbolt.html/aThe G-SPEED Studio uses a hardware RAID, making it more stable, and is designed for RAID 0,1,5 and 10.

Q: 2. Is the drive 2x4tb or 2x2tb?

A: It is pre-configured as RAID 0, therefore it has 2x 2TB drives. RAID 0 is not redundant, therefore you do not lose any drive capacity. If this were pre-configured as a RAID 1 and still said 4TB G-RAID , it would be 2x4TB since the 2 drives would mirror each other, giving you a total of 4TB usable space.

Q: 3. Hi Guys, does this drive show up as 2 drives on the desktop ? My Pro Tools software requires two seperate drives, one for video and one for audio. Thanks

A: Hi, as mentioned above out of the box the G-RAID is set up as RAID 0 and will be seen as one drive. You can delete the RAID in Disk Utility, creating a JBOD, and then format each drive individually. (Call one Audio, and one Video.)If you are running El Capitan the drives will appear as individual drives in Disk Utility and you will be able to format each drive to create your Audio and Video drive.

Q: 4. What's in the box says it comes with a thunderbolt cable, but two reviewers said it does not include the cable. Is there a thunderbolt cable included?

A: Yes mine did the 8 TB version

Q: 5. Can you upgrade the storage with this by adding two higher capacity drives?

A: This system supports up to 8tb

Q: 6. Several reviews state this G-Tech 4TB G-Raid doesn't come with a Thunderbolt cable. However, the In The Box tab in this listing states a cable is included. I will be using this with an iMac 27 . Can you please verify this for me? Thank you.

A: Yes, the G-RAID comes with the long thunderbolt cable and many others cables as well.

Q: 7. Is this okay to use in Europe? And if so, is there a power cord that I could use there with this?

A: The included AC adapter supports 100-240v. Please note that the included plug is the US plug. You would need a plug adapter to use in Europe.

Q: 8. What drives are in this product?

A: There are 2 4T mirror drives in the product. You have storage capacity for 4T of data

Q: 9. can you please assist me with required voltage for power supply(cord)?

A: 110 volts

Q: 10. What is the warranty period for this drive?

A: This will come with a 3-Year Limited Warranty from the manufacturer.

I have a bunch of these drives. No brainer. I still use SSD's to edit with mostly, but this is a solution for storage and it is fast enough to edit with. G Tech is very reliable.
