If you like contrast, massive EV, and like to print big, you can't get into a digital format for less than $*. I shoot digital but I love film. Especially film like TMY 400. Great contrast, beautiful grain, scans well, and you get files (with good exposure, etc.) that can be printed at sizes far beyond what digital can do for most people. We are like cattle. We move in herds...

If you scan your negs, you really cant go wrong with TMax 400. Very nice smooth mid tones make this film perfect for scanning. If you develop at home, it works with almost ALL developers on the market without any fuss. The only drawback with TMax film is that it tends to curl when drying, with can be a pain. But for the price and quality, a couple of extra days before being able to get a nice flat scan isnt a big deal :)

I love using this film for casual shooting with my Rolleiflex. The grain is not overpowering, it has great tones, and good amount of exposure latitude. There is a price break when you buy a whole pack, which is also a plus. :)

I typically use this film with a Mamiya 645 and achieve beautiful, smooth results. It's great for just about any subject! I've also used it with a variety of toy camera, and it renders well even behind a plastic lens. The contrast is great! Also, it scans better than any BW film I've tried.
