The black COS-11D Omni Lavalier Mic with Normal Sensitivity, Phantom/Battery Power & XLR Connector from Sanken is a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

The COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal, while the microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a standard 3-pin XLR connector for use with a wide variety of audio gear and can be powered via 12 to 52V phantom power or from a single AA battery.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does it come with the Nikon standard battery? or i need to buy the battery separately? also, do i leave the original battery in when attaching this grip?

A: You will need to use a bettery thaty is not included. You can use a 1 x EN-EL15 or 8 x AA Batteries.

Q: 2. Is the MB-D18's buttons illuminated, like the D850 it attaches to?

A: No, the battery pack on the Nikon MB-D18 Multi-Power Battery Pack BH #NIMBD18 is not illuminated like the Nikon D850.

Q: 3. Does this used model have the bl-5(for en-el18), the AA and the en-el15 holder with it?

A: Those items are for the Nikon D850 and this MB-D12 doesn't work with the D850. You would need this Nikon MB-D18 Multi-Power Battery Pack with Battery Kit for that. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1515713-REG/nikon_mb_d18_multi_power_battery_pack.html

Q: 4. Is this 50 mm macro lens a good lense to photograph art work?

A: Macro lenses like these are very sharp, en should be excellent for your purpose. The only question would be if the focus plane is flat enough (whether everything the same distance from the lens is sharp across the whole frame), but using a smaller aperture like f8 should solve that problem, if it indeed exists.

Q: 5. Can this grip on the D850 be used in an (any) underwater housing?

A: Not that we sell, all the D850 housings are without battery grip.

Q: 6. I feel very foolish asking this question but because the MB-D18 only mounts to the bottom of the D850, does it use the built in battery of the D850 as well for power? Can you use the MB-D19 w/o the built in battery of the D850? The reason why I ask is every time you want to charge the built in battery on the D850 you would have to remove the MB-D18 correct?

A: The D850 does use the built-in battery as well, but you can go to the menu and set the camera to use the MB-D18 battery first. That way the built-in battery only needs to be charged on an infrequent basis. The MB-D18 battery will work without the built-in battery being installed, but I like having it there for backup just in case. Plus it only takes a few seconds to remove the MB-D18 to get to the built-in battery when it requires charging.

Q: 7. Is this a "full frame" or APS-C le s?

A: Hi Mike, It's a full frame lens

Q: 8. Is there any kind of indicator showing levels of the battery / batteries in the grip?

A: Yes, the camera shows battery levels in grip and or camera body.

Q: 9. Does this lens work with the Pentax K-70?

A: It should for sure. And as others pointed out a great lens in optical terms (built quality is ok but not more) for that value that works as well as macro as for portray on APS-C. A in depth review can be found here http://www.photozone.de/pentax/906-pentax50f28macro And as others said - it is full frame so if one day you feel like buying K-1 you can use it.

Q: 10. Is this made in Vietnam or Japan?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Vietnam. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.
