Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this set retain aperture control?

A: You should retain aperture and shutter control through the camera body.

Q: 2. Can the extension tube be used to allow a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter to be used with a lens that is not normally compatible with a teleconverter (ie. the EF24-70 f2.8L)?

A: No, they are extension tubes. These are for macro shots and are not designed to work with teleconverters.

Q: 3. Can these tubes be stacked?

A: Yes, they can be stacked in any combination to gain additionnal lenght possibilities.

Q: 4. Just purchased these and am having an issue getting any image. Using the panasonic 12-35mm, i have used one and both extension tubes and still only get a blurry image of light. I've gotten very close (cm close) to an object with a tripod and have slowly backed away to test the range and still get nothing. i have used mostly manual focus but have also tried auto, and both do not change the blur that I am getting. has anyone else had this issue?

A: An extension tube increases lens magnification by an amount equal to the extension distance divided by the lens focal length plus the native magnification of the lens. If you are using both Vello tubes at 12mm, that is 26mm divided by 12 mm for a 2.17 magnification. Add the native magnification of .17 and you are at 2.34X. The minimum focus distance will be 57.2mm from you sensor. That is very close. Try a longer focal length or only the smaller tube at 35mm.Here is a great link to calculate the result of extension tubes:http://bit.ly/1UYQDzw

Q: 5. Does anyone use this with a Gitzo GH3382QD Series 3 Ball Head? I'd love to see a photo!

A: The top plate of the Systematic is 88mm and the base of the ball head is 60mm, so there will be about 1" of space all around. A bigger ball head would fit better.

Q: 6. how is it compared with the manfrotto 055?

A: The Benro TMA48CXL Extra Long Series 4 Mach3 Carbon Fiber Tripod would hold more weight, would be taller at its max height and would fold down to a more compact size compared to the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3. On the other hand, the MT055XPRO3 would offer a built-in lateral column over the TMA48CXL.

Q: 7. Are the size of the extension tubes based on the camera or the lens? I have a Nikon D750 and a range of lenses. Want to make sure these will work. Thanks!

A: I bought these a few years ago. They are based on the lens mount -Nikon F mount for instance. I own Nikon, sigma, and Tokina lenses and the D500/D5300 and all function properly.

Q: 8. Are these tubes compatible with a Canon 70D and a Sigma 105mm macro lens?

A: They should operate fine. The only electrical components inside are simple pass through contacts for passing lens information to the camera body. There are no optical components inside, just air. There are some compromises involved with macro tube use. When in use, focus to infinity is usually not possible.Working distance becomes very close.Depth of field/plane of focus becomes very thin.Magnification = Total Extension / Focal Length + Lens' native magnification. In the case of your Sigma 105 macro, native magnification is 1:1.With the full 68mm stack of Kenkos, you'll get 68/105=0.65x additional magnification, 1.65x total. The shorter the lens' focal length, the greater the additional magnification. For example, using the full 68mm set with a 40mm pancake lens, magnification increases from 0.18x to 1.88x.Downside remains depth of field. 68mm extension with a 40mm lens results in depth of field the requires either a subject (and its plane of focus) be parallel to the sensor and/or focus stacking multiple frames. So, not sure what you're hoping for adding these to a 105mm macro lens, there will be some additional magnification, nothing radically different as with a shorter focal length. Can't help with crop factor differences, no experience, no interest.

Q: 9. Are these compatible with Nikon D3500 and the 18-55mm lens that comes with it?

A: Yes, they are compatible with your camera and lens.

Q: 10. Is the max height with the center tube extended? What is the height with the center tube lowered all the way?

A: Yes, the maximum height includes the center column fully extended.
