Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this ring flash work with the Yongnuo YNE3-RX Wireless Flash Receiver being triggered by the built in radio wireless on a Canon 77D?

A: This ring flash was designed to be used from the camera hotshoe.

Q: 2. What are the adapter rings made of? Metal or plastic?

A: Metal. Very good flash the only problem es the lid that covers the batteries broke after 2-3 months. We wrap it with plastic paper until we find a place to fix it.

Q: 3. Can this work for Nikon D7000? (Ie, Nikon macro lens 85mm)If not directly, Can an adaptor be purchased?

A: Looks like your lens has a 52 mm filter size. The flash comes with 4 filter ring for 52mm, 58mm, 67mm, and 72mm lens filter threads You screw the adapter into your lens filter thread and then mount the flash on the adapter ring.Ray

Q: 4. I have one of these I purchased at B&H but cannot seem to get it to work now. It won't fire either with the pilot button or on my Canon 7D mkII. any advice?

A: where can I get it serviced? I cannot figure it out on the yongnuo site

Q: 5. Will this work with a Canon EOS RP?

A: This flash is not compatible with the Canon EOS RP.

Q: 6. I have canon 1300d with 100mm f2.8non is lens which yongnuo ring flash will be compatible with my camera?will there be issue with iso settings?kindly reply

A: Yes, it will fit, it comes with a 58mm screw on filter ring mount that attaches the flash to the lens. As far as the camera, if it has ETTL flash control it will work automatically with the flash in auto modes.

Q: 7. does it work for non macro lens ?

A: Yes. However, it only comes with adapters for the 52, 58, 67 and 72 mm lenses, so it cannot be used on some of the most popular 82 mm lenses such as the my Canon EF 24-70 mm F2.8 L lens. Why it doesn't come with it, I have no idea, but it is quite frustrating, as I think it makes a very good on camera fill flash for non-macro work, as long as you are reasonably close to the subject (play with it-you will find the sweet spots ). I used it for an outside childrens' shoot at dusk, on a T6S with EFS 18-135 67 mm lens, and it was fine. Had to use this camera, as there were no adapters that would fit the lenses I had on the 5D Mk IV.

Q: 8. Anyone able to get this working with the Canon 80D? I've been told only units manufactured after August 2016 are compatible.

A: I own an 80D and I also have the same ring light. It works fine but isn't very well made. After a few months the battery door broke so I bought a Canon MR 14EX II. It's better quality and I can use the Canon as a master.

Q: 9. How powerful is the modeling light? With F-number is still workable?

A: I tried the flash and it works fine. Haven't as yet tried the modeling light when photographing, but when you turn it on it seems to be bright enough for close work. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Q: 10. Sony has two flash shoe configurations, an older proprietary, and a newer universal. Will the TTL interface work with the newer Sony shoe as on a Sony A7 camera?

A: I would put the question to the manufacturer. My cameras are Canon and my flash is configured to use all the Canon features.
