Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to buy more plates like the one included with this ball head ? Thanks

A: Try the B&H web site and search for Quick Release Plates. I was able to use a plate that came with my MeFoto A1350 RoadTrip tripod. As long as it measures 1.5 wide it should fit the iOptron ball head. The plate from my Manfrotto 055 Magnesium Ball head did not fit since it was 2 wide.

Q: 2. Does the B2 traction control have ”clicks?”

A: No " clicks"

Q: 3. Is the clamp attached to this head, removable by the user? If so what size/type of screw is used?

A: I have not tried to remove the clamp an do not want to try (it may be on with lock-tight). However the USA rep is very easy to reach and can answer the question. Look up Rod Klukas Arca Swiss (b&h does not allow phone numbers or web information on the reply)I hope that helps, (he is very prompt at answering questions)

Q: 4. Are the knobs on this ballhead metal or plastic????

A: They are metal and coated in a grip-like rubber coating.

Q: 5. What is the warrantee on this item? I bought this item last May from B&H and the plastic part of the ball head cracked.

A: This product has a one year, limited manufacturer's warranty.

Q: 6. Are the knobs made of metal or plastic? ??

A: Knobs are metal with rubber grips. Great ball head - I like it better than the Oben head I have.

Q: 7. Can anyone recommend a universal L bracket to use with this ball head? I was considering the Arca-Swiss

A: I use sunway l brackets and am very pleased.

Q: 8. Would this ball head be compatible with a manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod?

A: I don't see why not. The P0 is a pretty compact head with a standard thread in the base. I'm using it on 2-series Benro legs and it's great.

Q: 9. I'm pretty heavily invested with the Manfrotto 200PL plates and mounting system-will this item accept the 200PL plates?

A: No.

Q: 10. With the upside down ball, if the camera is level, will it remain level during a panorama, or is a leveling base still necessary if one does not want to level the entire tripod?

A: It would remain leveled during a panorama. I personally use this ballhead and it has a little panning lever so that you can pan around 360 degrees without having to loosen the ballhead. A leveling base might be better if you really need to nail your levels but it's not necessary.

I didn't have time before an event to try the soft box out. I was worried that i might have trouble setting it up. But it was super easy to set-up; it's got a nice big face that diffuses light nicely. I used it with my Lumopros 160 and also tried it with my Canon 600 exert. Worked perfectly well!

For off-camera Speedlite/Speedlight shooters, this softbox along with the 24 model is an indispensable tool. This is a great softbox, easy to set up, very tough, durable, light and portable. This is the best softbox on the market for Speedlite shooters. Get it with the Manfrotto 1052 BAC light stand and the Manfrotto 026 swivel umbrella adaptor because you must be able to tilt the softbox down on the light stand. Lastolite discontinued their fantastic Tilt Head with Spigot, which is perfect for this setup.

The 30x30 Lastolite EZYBOX is a excellent compliment to their 24x24. The larger size is what I was looking for. To some it may be a tad bulky but you soon ignore that after you use it a few times. Spreads the light well.

Easy to transport. Assembly and disassembly is simple. Works well with my SB-700 speedlights for either studio or location work. Good light output versus dragging along constant light sources.

I have been using shoot-through and reflective umbrellas for portrait photography and decided to try a softbox. I got the largest size I thought would work with 1 speedlight and provide even lighting. I have successfully made 3/4 and full length portraits using this softbox. I'm very pleased with it. Be sure to adjust zoom level and flash output on the speedlight for best illumination pattern. See example photos using 35mm zoom on Nikon SB-700.
