Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I need to know if TTL works with this tubes....thank you, sorry about my english

A: Yes, the Vello Auto Extension tube will support TTL auto meter exposure settings as well as autofocus.

Q: 2. Wondering if these were compatible with a D5000, using the standard 55-200mm that came with it. Someone mentioned I might have trouble with the auto-focus, metering, etc.. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

A: Yes, these tubes are fully compatible with the Nikon D5000 and your 55-200mm lens and most all other lenses you would want to use with it. The tubes are designed to allow the autofocus to work at distances the camera is designed to focus at, however the benefit of the tubes is to be able to get closer than normal, so in doing so the autofocus sensor of your camera may become confused and hunt for its focus point and never come to focus. As such manual focus is a better route to go with.

Q: 3. What's the difference between this Deluxe Auto Focus tube and the Vello Econ Extension tubes you sell?

A: The difference between the Deluxe Auto Focus Extension Tube Set and the Econo Extension Tube Set by Vello is the mount; the deluxe set contains metal mounts, where the econo set mounts are made out of plastic.

Q: 4. Is it possible to make an even shorter tube ?

A: 13mm is currently the shortest available.

Q: 5. can these tubes be used with tele-photo lenses or does it have to a prime lens???

A: Yes... They work great. I use them with a Nikon 135mm f2 DC lens on a Nikon D800e for flowers. This lens has suburb bokeh but does not focus closely enough for flower portraits. Also the Nikon versions are manual only and do not supply exposure information to the camera.

Q: 6. If 36mm extension tube is used with Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED lens at 55mm what is image size and min. focus distance?

A: It appears that, at the 17mm focal length setting, using the using the 36mm extension tube from the Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Nikon F on the Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED lens would reduce the minimum focus distance to approximately 3.18 inches (80.7 mm), and at the 55mm focal length, the minimum focus distance will be reduced to approximately 8.72 inches (221.4 mm).

Q: 7. Vello compatibility chart lists Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED as compatible but my D7200 will not focus manually or on Auto?

A: Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Nikon F will autofocus with Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED and D7200 will autofocus.

Q: 8. Will these tubes work with an AF-P lens (like the AF-P 70-300 FX)? What about an E-type (electronic aperture) lens, like the AF-S 16-80?

A: These extension tubes are only compatible with AF-S lenses or older.

Q: 9. will these extension tubes work with Nikon D810?

A: I use them on my Nikon D800E. They all have the same mount. I prefer using a Nikon 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Macro Lens. The extension tubes requires adding/removing them for changing the amount of macro enlargement. That is OK indoors but not preferred in the field.

Q: 10. Whats the minimum range this extension can reach? In other words, how macro? For say the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM with a minimum range of 0.45 m (17.72?) ???

A: The answer is not that simple. What you really want to know is the magnification achieved with the extension tube. With a 50mm lens you will get to about 1:4, aka 1/4 life size. I use this extender with a 55-250mm zoom for flexibility. Go to fredmiranda dot com slash forum and check out the macro forum for detailed info.
