Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it work with the Canon 5D Mk iv?

A: Yes it does. Works with Canon 5D Mark iii too.. and the ringlite comes with 3 adapter rings so that you can use them on different lenses too - for 67mm 72mm and 58mm if im not wrong. Will have to check.

Q: 2. does this work with olympus omd em-5 mark III?

A: The results may vary when using this ringlight on the OM-D E-M5 Mark III, being that the pin configuration is made for Canon cameras.

Q: 3. Is this fully compatible with both the Canon SL2 and Canon SL3?

A: The Yongnuo YN-14EX-C Macro Ring Lite for Canon Cameras is TTL compatible with Canon SL2 and any other Canon camera with 5 pin connections on the camera hot shoe. Canon SL3 is only compatible with manual flash exposure. Canon design the hot shoe on this camera with 4 pins only therefore there is no TTL synch on this camera.

Q: 4. Sony has two flash shoe configurations, an older proprietary, and a newer universal. Will the TTL interface work with the newer Sony shoe as on a Sony A7 camera?

A: I would put the question to the manufacturer. My cameras are Canon and my flash is configured to use all the Canon features.

Q: 5. what is the maximum load weight this gimbal support and what is the difference between the 3xs and 3xs lite models?

A: A payload of about 1 lb maximum. Unlike the 3XS Lite, the 3XS model offers both wired and wireless charging, the latter of which is applicable to smartphone models that support wireless charging.

Q: 6. Will this work as a purely manually adjusted, non-TTL flash on a non-Canon camera? The specifications state it is manually adjustable from 1 to 1/64 power and the view of the flashs LCD suggests this is possible. Can the ratio of one side to the other also be set manually (button on flash labeled Ratio) or is this only available through the Canon menu? I want to use this both on Canon and non-Canon bodies. Thank you.

A: it can be operated in manual mode but i wouldnt suggest putting it on non-canon bodies as there are more pins than the standard center pin used in manual flashes so it is possible incorrect signals may damage the camera/flash

Q: 7. Macro photography I shoot for the most part outdoors. Can this also be used as a fill flash?

A: As the Yongnuo YN-14EX-C Macro Ring Lite for Canon Cameras is designed for macro photography, it is not one of the strongest flashes available. With a Guide Number of 45.93', at full-power at ISO 100, you would be able to shoot at f/5.6 at about 8 feet for proper exposure, and at f/4 at about 11.5 feet from your subject. You may get more working range either by using a larger aperture or by using a higher ISO setting on your camera.

Q: 8. Will this fit if you’re using a reversing ring? (16-35 mm reversed)

A: If you are using a lens revered there won't be anywhere for the flash to hold onto in the front of the lens, but you could hold the flash with your other hand if possible.

Q: 9. Will this ring flash work on my R5?

A: Yes, the following unit will work with any lens that can adapt to the following adapter rings 52mm, 58mm, 67mm, and 72mm lens filter threads.

Q: 10. Does this work with the Canon 1DsMark II?

A: Yes, this will work with the Canon EOS 1DS Mark II as they both use the Canon E-TTL II protocol.
