A: The aperture does not move when you scroll, it opens or closes only when a photo is taken. You may test this by setting the aperture first to f/22, which should give you a fairly dark image. Then, try setting the aperture to f/5.6, which should produce a much lighter image. A: Yes... They work great. I use them with a Nikon 135mm f2 DC lens on a Nikon D800e for flowers. This lens has suburb bokeh but does not focus closely enough for flower portraits. Also the Nikon versions are manual only and do not supply exposure information to the camera.
