Q: 1. is there a warranty on this camera?
A: Yes, the Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera comes with a limited 1-year manufacturer warranty from Nikon.
Q: 2. Does this work for NTG2??
A: No it will not work with an NTG2. The dimensions of the NTG2 are very different than the NTG3. NTG2 Dimensions: ø: 0.87 x L: 11.02" / ø: 22 x L: 280 mm NTG3 Dimensions ø: 0.75 x L: 10.04" / ø: 19 x L: 255 mm This will fit the NTG2 nicely: Auray WSC-4014 Chinchilla Windshield (14 cm, Black) B&H # AUWSC401: https://bhpho.to/34pRgL0
Q: 3. Is it possible to shoot in 9:16 ratio? Or just 3:4?
A: Unfortunately Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera does not offer 9:16 aspect ratio. It offers 4:3, 16:9, 3:2, and 1:1.
Q: 4. What is the length of the opening's interior dimensions? I want to use the WS-8 with my Schoeps mkxxKCY actives setups and I was wondering if all 2 of my capsule/collette combo would fit into the WS-8 so that no wind noise enters from behind the capsule? I use my mkxx capsules with DINa/DIN/ORTF/NOS active bars most of the time if that matters?!?!I know that this page says that the WS-8 is meant for capsules 27mm longmost Schoeps capsules are 20mmx20mm, but I'm not sure if that was as far as a mic would go into the WS-8, since its almost 4 long total? That would seem like a slight waste of space if the opening was only 1 /27mm long. I know the bigger the dead cell/space area, the better the wind protection, but it seems by the looks of it that if a mic went halfway into the WS-8 which would be the 2 I need my capsules to go in, since its almost 4 total, there would still be plenty of dead space for wind dampening :)Id MUCH rather spend the $25 on these versus the $95 the Rycote Classic Softies cost lol :)Thanks a lot,Bean
A: The depth of the hole in the foam is a little over an inch. If you pull the rubber gasket back after the mic is inserted, the fur will stretch to cover an additional half inch or so. You MIGHT be able to get it all the way to your needed extra inch if you really jam it, but you also might end up ripping the stitching over time. Either way, you'd only be covering that inch with fur, not with both fur and foam. For small pencil mics, like my beloved Audix SCX-1, the WS8 works very well. But if you need 2 inches of depth within the foam, this probably isn't the ideal solution for you.(On a side note, here's one other thing to consider about the WS8. It looks exactly like a tribble, and you'll find actresses tend to have an irresistible urge to pet it when it's near them. I'll let you decide whether that's a positive or a negative.)
Q: 5. Good morning What are the differences between the P900 and P950 versions?
A: The Nikon Coolpix P950 features compared to the P900: microphone input, hot shoe, raw shooting options, slow-motion recording, touch autofocus, larger screen, and a higher resolution EVF. However, the Nikon Coolpix 9000 features compared to the P950: 70 shots longer battery life, continuous auto focus while recording, 106g lighter, built-in HDR mode, GPS, 10s longer exposure time, 14% less body volume, and has NFC.
Q: 6. Can a Solmeta GPS be used on a Nikon CoolPix 950?
A: No, only the following models are supported COOLPIX P7800, P7700, CoolPix A.
Q: 7. Will this be too large for the VideoMic Pro? If so, is there a windshield that would work well for both the VideoMic Pro and the NTG2?
A: Unfortunately the difference in size between the two mics will not allow you to utilize the same windshield for both the VideoMic Pro and NTG2. This is designed for the NTG 1, 2 and 4 microphones. For the VideoMic Pro the Rycote Windjammer is recommended. See B&H # RYMWRVMPR. Rode also overs a slip over windshield designed for the mic. B&H # RODEADCTVMPR
Q: 8. I have a p1000 because I like superzooms, but it is a little heavy. Is there enough difference in weight to justify buying the P950?
A: The Nikon Coolpix P950 is indeed significantly lighter than the P1000: Nikon P1000 3.11 lb / 1415 g Nikon P950 2.21 lb / 1005 g
Q: 9. does this camera require a threaded adapter to use filters?
A: Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera has 67mm filter threads in the front so no adapter is needed. 67mm filters will fit it directly.
Q: 10. Does this really come with a 10-year warranty? I have a problem with my WS6 but Rode isn't responding to my message. The rubber base part separated from the foam part which looked like was glued.
A: Yes it does come with a 10 year warranty. Here is their contact information.Rode Tel: (562) 364-7400 or (888) 412-4664Website a href= http://www.rodemic.com/ target= _blank http://www.rodemic.com//a Email usasupport@rodemic.com
