Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How I can change VR mode (between Normal and Sport)?

A: You set that in the camera. For example here is the link for the Nikon Z7ii manual and here it shows where to change in the camera between Normal and Sport Vibration Reduction. https://onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z7II_z6II/en/07_the_i_menu_02.html#photo_vibration_reduction

Q: 2. Would the bracket fit on a dslr with a battery grip?

A: While it would depend on which camera you own, as a rule, I would not recommend using the Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket in the kit with a DSLR camera with a battery grip. If you are using one of the smaller, entry level cameras that may have a battery grip, it may fit (all depending on where the screw to connect the bracket to the grip and if it provides enough clearance for the flash). However, most entry level cameras do not have battery grips, and the mid-size cameras with grips would be too large for use. This would specifically depend on the equipment you own, but the safe rule is to use it without the battery grip on your camera.

Q: 3. Why is the NEW version of this lens $150 LESS than this original version of the lens which came out in 2005. Shouldn't the new version of this lens be MORE money??? While is this older version $150 more expensive than the newer version?????

A: Depending upon when the item is purchased, Canon's instant rebates may cause some items to be cheaper than others. It could be that, at the time, this lens did not have any rebates or discounts applied to it, so it was selling at full price, while the newer version might have had rebates or discounts that had it coming out cheaper than the old version. In general, newer versions of lenses are better quality, and higher priced, than previous versions. So finding a newer version priced below an older one is a win-win situation that does not happen often.

Q: 4. What options are available for mounting to a RRS arca style quick release plate?

A: As of 12/27/2020, they have not released a specialized lens foot for the RF 70-200 f/2.8 yet, which leave you with their anti-twist/fore-aft arca-plates like the B82 (2.6" - https://bhpho.to/3nO7y8N) or L85 (3.6" - https://bhpho.to/2Joah9X) plates.

Q: 5. Can I use this lens with my Canon EOS Rebel Tli ?

A: Yes, the Rebel series takes both EF and EFS lens, unlike the full body Canon 5D Mark III. This is the bonus of the Rebel series.

Q: 6. Can this be used with an adapter on a sony a7iii?

A: At this time there aren't any adapters from Canon RF lens to Sony E mount camera and I believe there won't be because it would add too much space between the lens and the camera and the camera won't be able to focus to infinity any longer. It would require an optic in the adapter and that reduces image quality.

Q: 7. Good morning, Interested if the Lens hood can still be used at the same time as a 82mm ND Filter placed on the front of the lens with a 77 to 82mm adapter? Would the Lens Hood have to be taken off in that case? Thank you

A: The hood can only be used when using a 77mm filter since the lens is made for use with 77mm filters. A larger filter would interfere with the manufacturers hood on any lens. If your 82mm filter has front threads you can use a 3rd party screw on 82mm hood instead.

Q: 8. When did Canon release this particular lens?

A: This lens was announced in August of 2005 and released in the preceding winter.

Q: 9. will this lens work with the 5d\5d3?

A: Yes. It was made for full-sensor as the 5ds, but works in a crop sensor too as my canon 60d.

Q: 10. Is there a list of cameras that the light will mount to?

A: No list - but this light will mount to any camera with a conventional, standard hot shoe.
