Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can these tubes be used with tele-photo lenses or does it have to a prime lens???

A: Yes... They work great. I use them with a Nikon 135mm f2 DC lens on a Nikon D800e for flowers. This lens has suburb bokeh but does not focus closely enough for flower portraits. Also the Nikon versions are manual only and do not supply exposure information to the camera.

Q: 2. Whats the minimum range this extension can reach? In other words, how macro? For say the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM with a minimum range of 0.45 m (17.72?) ???

A: The answer is not that simple. What you really want to know is the magnification achieved with the extension tube. With a 50mm lens you will get to about 1:4, aka 1/4 life size. I use this extender with a 55-250mm zoom for flexibility. Go to fredmiranda dot com slash forum and check out the macro forum for detailed info.

Q: 3. Are these for full frame as well, or only for APS-C?

A: These Vello Auto Extension tubes can work with both FX and DX Nikon Z mount cameras.

Q: 4. Will the Fotodiox extension tubes fit in front of the Sony 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverters? The opening in the Vello tubes is to restrictive.

A: I tried this combination using the Sony 90mm ƒ2.8 Macro. These extension tubes allow the Sony SEL14TC to physically mount, but the shutter and all electronic functions of the lens are disabled. In theory, the combination should work with a non-electronic macro lens. I've tested mechanical lens mount adapters with the 1.4X TC and had good results. If you do attempt this, I recommend using both tubes. The 16mm is slightly too short, causing the rubberized tip of the teleconverter to touch the baffle in the lens mount.

Q: 5. does it work with the d5200 ?

A: No. These extension tubes are not compatible with any of the Nikon D5000 series cameras.

Q: 6. I just received the Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Nikon. I have a D90 camera, and I'm using a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 35 mm 1:1.8k G lens. I tried using the 12mm extension tube and see nothing through the view finder. I tried it outside with plenty of sunshine, and yes, the lens cap was off, but I still didn't see anything. Also, I know you can't set the aperture with the tubes, so can I still shoot in manual or do I need AUTO?

A: Everything should work fine with what you have. Since this is a Auto version and not the Manual version, you can control the aperture of the lens with the tubes in place. Be sure that that on the camera, the aperture is open all the way. While the image will be dimmer than without the tubes, you should see clearly enough. If you still have an issue, please email us with your experience. prophoto@bhphoto.com.

Q: 7. Vello compatibility chart lists Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED as compatible but my D7200 will not focus manually or on Auto?

A: Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Nikon F will autofocus with Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G ED and D7200 will autofocus.

Q: 8. I need to know if TTL works with this tubes....thank you, sorry about my english

A: Yes, the Vello Auto Extension tube will support TTL auto meter exposure settings as well as autofocus.

Q: 9. Do these work with a D3000 and a nikon 28-70 AF zoom?

A: they will work for sure. you will get best results at 50mm and up

Q: 10. Hi it will be fully working with Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G Lens?

A: The Vello Auto Extension Tube Set for Nikon is compatible with all Nikon AF and AF-S lenses.
