Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the inside diameter of this collar???

A: The internal diameter of that lens ring is 3.96".

Q: 2. Will this work well with a Sigma 150-600mm?

A: Yes, you can attach your Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens to Nodal Ninja M2 Giga Plate with RD8-II Rotator. The lens is 4.03 lb and it has a 1/4-20 thread on the foot.

Q: 3. Is this rail long enough for a EOS 5D MII camera (Sigma fish eye lens 8mm)? I have the 120mm Nodal Slide, but it fell short for about 20mm, I'd like to know if this rail will be suitable or I'd better go for the 180mm, to be sure.

A: The 5D Mark II and the Sigma 8mm f/3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheye Lens for Canon EF add up to 5.70 / 144.780 mm. We are unable to test but it is our opinion that while the the 180mm would achieve the nodal point, we are sure the fish-eye will see the rail. We then suggest that the 140mm would be the rail to use. Sunwayfoto DMP-140R Nodal Slide B&H # SUDMP140R.

Q: 4. Can the Lens Ring be used on my Sigma 8mm f/3.5 EX DG Lens that will have a Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R for my Canon R5 Body? Will the adapter be a problem for the lens ring? Thank You!

A: An EF-R adapter may interfere with this mount.

Q: 5. Which one will I need for a Samyang 8mm on a Sony 6500

A: Nodal doesn't have an adapter for that lens.

Q: 6. Will this lens ring work with a Nodal Ninja R20?

A: As per Nodal Ninja, you can use the R1/R10 Lens Ring with the R20 as well.

Q: 7. I have a manfrotto 303sph tripod head for shooting spherical VRTV. The Sigma 8mm is so wide it shows part of the assembly if taken to the nodal point. Will this ring solve my problem on another tripod or the 303SPH?

A: It should work with the Manfrotto 303SPH head. But you might need to shift it a little on the head. That lens is very wide and is a fisheye. Most do use very wide lenses for VRTV but not that wide.

Q: 8. What do I get if I buy this tem? All the items shown in the picture? Thank you in avanced

A: If you buy the Nodal Ninja NN3 MK3/ NN6 QR Nadir Adapter B&H # NOF6026, you get the little piece that attaches the vertical and horizontal rails together. If you want everything in the photo, you need to buy this special order: Nodal Ninja NN6 with Nadir Adapter B&H # NOF6002.

Q: 9. How can I change on the DDP-64M the top male 1/4-20 to a male 3/8 for use my female 3/8 ball head attachment?

A: The Sunwayfoto DDP-64M Indexing Rotator has a 3/8"-16 thread size. The 1/4"-20 is the adapter. It will fit onto a 3/8"-16 female.

Q: 10. But can the 1/4 - 20 lug on top be taken out and then a 1/4 -20 screw be screwed into it from the top? I guess what I'm asking is if the hole on top is threaded.

A: The Rotator has a standard 1/4 male thread and it is not designed to take that out and be used direct with a male thread. It is 3/8ths female thread any way.
