Q: 1. Can you manually control pan and tilt with remote?

A: The control is a disk shaped joystick which can be used to pan and tilt the head/camera mount. The control is hard wired to the pan/tilt device. You can get a cable extension to lengthen it.

Q: 2. What is the slowest pan? How much time to pan, say, 90 degrees?

A: For a 90 degree rotation w/o camera using batteries ... speed control slider set at the slowest setting = 20 seconds to rotate. Speed control set at fastest level same conditions = 10 seconds I use this unit on a basic Jib and it preforms well. It is better to use the ac adapter but it works fine with batteries. I also bought the extension cord for the controller to operate it from the other end of the jib.I also use this unit to add movement when I have to do a solo recording with no helper for podcasting or shorts

Q: 3. Is there a version that can handle up to 10-15 lbs?

A: Bescor does not make Pan and Tilt Heads that can hold a capacity in the 10-15 pound range I'm afraid. However the Wild Shot Camera CPT 1019 is a great option and has a load capacity up to 13 pounds.

Q: 4. i want to use this with water drop photography, can i make very small adjustments in the angle up and down.? somtimes i will only need to use it for fraction of an inch. AL

A: Yes, depending on the lens. I use it with a portrait lens and it is pretty fine movement. If you're trying to use a macro, it may not be as accurate as you may want. Telephoto seems to be okay. Also, it uses batteries or external power (that may be extra). It moves slower and more accurately on the batteries. Has a manual setting with a wired remote about 4 ft long. With the manual setting you have not quite 360 degrees horizontal movement. Manual also has up and down movement of about 30 degrees total. Auto movement is only side to side, set to 45, 90 and 340 degrees.

Q: 5. Is this normal? When I turn on the one man crew and start it in the left direction when it reaches the end of the track it stops and makes a loud knocking noise... then it will go right or I need to push the right button. After that it functions normally. But is that common? It doesn't seem correct. Please let me know so I can send this back before my 30 days are up. Thank you!

A: It's been a while since I used our slider but I don't remember it making a loud sound anytime.

Q: 6. Is there a programmable API for this product?

A: Hi, I made one by replacing the remote controller with an IO-Device (Eth32). Combined with an QT based lib for connection to ATEM switch from Black Magic Design, I use a joystick to control the camera in Program/Preview View.

Q: 7. Can this be hard mounted to a wooden surface? Also, is there a way to be able to use a joystick type remote and if so, suggestions?

A: Yes, this can be mounted on a wooden surface but proper screws will need to be used. There are no joystick options available for this device.

Q: 8. Is there a remote I can use with this tripod head that will zoom?

A: Unfortunately, a zoom remote would have to be connected directly to the camera so it wouldn't work on the CamRanger MP-360 Motorized Pan/Tilt Tripod Head.

Q: 9. Can it be controlled by a computer?

A: The Bescor Motorized Pan & Tilt Head Kit with Remote Extension & AC Adapter as is does not work with a computer. There might be possible options but none specifically made for it to interface with a computer.

Q: 10. Any problems to mount this whole unit sideways (vertically) for a wide vertical rotation range instead of horizontal?

A: This head is meant to mounted horizontally. It would be a custom operation to set up vertically. It may be possible, but it is not something we recommend.
