Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I lock it to only do the tilt function? We don't want to hit the pan by mistake.

A: The Bescor MP-101 Motorized Pan & Tilt Head does not have a pan or tilt lock.

Q: 2. Remote control and PS-260 AC PSU?

A: Yes, it includes it.

Q: 3. Is there a remote I can use with this tripod head that will zoom?

A: Unfortunately, a zoom remote would have to be connected directly to the camera so it wouldn't work on the CamRanger MP-360 Motorized Pan/Tilt Tripod Head.

Q: 4. Does this come with a carrying case?

A: No. The following unit does not come with a carry case.

Q: 5. Could I connect 2 extensions to make my reach longer? Would there be a loss of signal?

A: Hi. I have one of these units and have run two 50' extensions with it. No problems at 100'. I'm looking at ordering another one and when I get extensions for that unit I'll try to test even longer. A LANC controller for my camera also worked well at 100' with two 50' extension cables.

Q: 6. My question is for those who use Alien Bees inside the Apollo Orb. How do you ventilate. The box is completely enclosed and I would be a bit concerned that the unit would overheat, especially when the modeling light is in use. Has anyone ever have a problem like that?

A: The Orb is rated for up to 300w tungsten continuous lighting. So your Bees modeling lamp should not be a problem. If course, It is still important to set it up to maintain air circulation space between the bulb and the fabric surface of the box.

Q: 7. Does it work well with a monopod ?

A: The Orb should work well mounted on a monopod as a boom arm. The video on the linked page below shows Zack Gray using a normal light stand with the Orb in a similar fashion. a href= http://westcottu.com/lightweight-portable-lighting-setup target= _blank http://westcottu.com/lightweight-portable-lighting-setup/a

Q: 8. To everyone who bought this set up How good of a stand is it ? Does it hold up?

A: The Westcott Light Stand (Black, 8'), B&H # WE8LS, is a good light stand. It has a load capacity of 5.5 lb / 2.5 kg, and is more than strong enough for usage with the above softbox and a standard hot shoe flash. The Westcott Light Stand (Black, 8') has a 4.5 star rating from 83 reviews from customers who have purchased the light stand. You may view the reviews on our website for information about the light stand.

Q: 9. What difference make in lighting the normal model stripbank softbox and this asymmetrical?

A: The Nanlite Asymmetrical Stripbank Softbox with Bowens Mount (18 x 43") BH #NASBAS110X45 has the light to one end so it will have a long tapered falloff to the other side. A normal stripbox is more even to both sides.

Q: 10. Is this normal? When I turn on the one man crew and start it in the left direction when it reaches the end of the track it stops and makes a loud knocking noise... then it will go right or I need to push the right button. After that it functions normally. But is that common? It doesn't seem correct. Please let me know so I can send this back before my 30 days are up. Thank you!

A: It's been a while since I used our slider but I don't remember it making a loud sound anytime.
