Q: 1. How does this flash compare to Canon's Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II? Is there a substantial difference other than cost :) ?

A: Simply put, you get what you pay for. However...this is an exceptional flash for the money. I am very satisfied with the build quality and functionality. You wont be disappointed.

Q: 2. Anyone able to get this working with the Canon 80D? I've been told only units manufactured after August 2016 are compatible.

A: I own an 80D and I also have the same ring light. It works fine but isn't very well made. After a few months the battery door broke so I bought a Canon MR 14EX II. It's better quality and I can use the Canon as a master.

Q: 3. Will this work with Sony A7ii?

A: Yes--if you are using a lens with a 52mm, 58mm, 67mm, or 72mm front lens diameter. Check your lens. The camera is not an issue.

Q: 4. How do I get a battery door replacement, The witch locks the door close brock off and will not lock close ?

A: The Yongnuo Battery Door for YN-14EX Macro Ring Lite, BH # YORLBD14 would be the one you need. https://bhpho.to/3ySVucr

Q: 5. How powerful is the modeling light? With F-number is still workable?

A: I tried the flash and it works fine. Haven't as yet tried the modeling light when photographing, but when you turn it on it seems to be bright enough for close work. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Q: 6. Can this work for Nikon D7000? (Ie, Nikon macro lens 85mm)If not directly, Can an adaptor be purchased?

A: Looks like your lens has a 52 mm filter size. The flash comes with 4 filter ring for 52mm, 58mm, 67mm, and 72mm lens filter threads You screw the adapter into your lens filter thread and then mount the flash on the adapter ring.Ray

Q: 7. Macro photography I shoot for the most part outdoors. Can this also be used as a fill flash?

A: As the Yongnuo YN-14EX-C Macro Ring Lite for Canon Cameras is designed for macro photography, it is not one of the strongest flashes available. With a Guide Number of 45.93', at full-power at ISO 100, you would be able to shoot at f/5.6 at about 8 feet for proper exposure, and at f/4 at about 11.5 feet from your subject. You may get more working range either by using a larger aperture or by using a higher ISO setting on your camera.

Q: 8. does this work with the olympus omd em-5 mark III?

A: Your results may vary when using this with an Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III since the pin configuration is different from that of the YN14EX-C.

Q: 9. I have canon 1300d with 100mm f2.8non is lens which yongnuo ring flash will be compatible with my camera?will there be issue with iso settings?kindly reply

A: Yes, it will fit, it comes with a 58mm screw on filter ring mount that attaches the flash to the lens. As far as the camera, if it has ETTL flash control it will work automatically with the flash in auto modes.

Q: 10. Has anyone experienced this light making any noise? I bought a cheapo ring light once (listed as Polaroid but of course made in China) and the loud, constant whine it produced made it unusable. I sent it back. Wouldn't like to go through that again.

A: Makes no noise except a beep when it returns to full charge and ready for the next shot, Tom. Works well.Dave
