Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If mounted to a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k, Can you control the zoom of this lens via the ATEM MINI software controller?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S lens is not compatible for camera control using ATEM Mini software with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera 4K.

Q: 2. This lens is compatible with Lumix dmc g7?

A: Others already answered that the lens can be used on G7 for sure. However since G7 is more targeting for video shooting, you may want to do a little more research to see if the lens is a good fit for video.

Q: 3. Can you use this lens on a GH4 / GH5 with third party zoom rocker through the cameras remote port?

A: Yes, when the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens is connected to the GH4/GH5, one can use a third party zoom rocker through the camera's remote port.

Q: 4. is this the V2? Weather sealed? Good for Dual IS on GH5?

A: No, there is not a second version of this lens. This would be a great lens to use with the GH5 and has excellent optical stabilization, but not the newer and better dual IS you will find with the newer lenses. It is not weather sealed.

Q: 5. is the lens parfocal, ie. does your subject stay in focus when zooming in or out?

A: This lens is not parfocal.

Q: 6. Is there a 2x lens extension that works with this lens?

A: Unfortunately there isn't a 2x teleconverter for this lens.

Q: 7. will this with olympus E-PL1 ?

A: I use it with Panasonic Gx7 and works fine It should also work with olympus E-PL1

Q: 8. is this lens compatible with an olympus omd em1iii? can i use the olympus android app (on my tablet) to zoom the lens automatically?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, but it is not compatible with the Olympus app.

Q: 9. Is there like an external control for using the zoom functions of these lenses?

A: Yes, the zoom controls are on the barrel of the lens.

Q: 10. Is the power zoom speed variable based upon how far you move the zoom lever?

A: There is basic speed control, but may depend on the camera in use. On my GH5 there is a section under the "Lens / Others" menu called "Power Zoom Lens". The options in here are "Disp Focal Length", "Step Zoom", "Zoom Speed" & "Zoom Ring". I set everything to off except for "Disp Focal Length" as manually zooming this lens is anything but smooth. Under "Zoom Speed" there is a photo and video option with H, M & L option for each. Weirdly I found that only when both Photo AND Video were set to L would the zoom in and out actually change to a nice slow zoom. Overall still significantly smoother than manually zooming any lens, however well short of the control you'd get on a decent camcorder.
