This waterproof case is dirt-simple, rugged, and relatively inexpensive. Our old Sony is a bit dated, but still a pretty good camera. Now that we have a new Nikon, I'll risk the old Sony for snorkeling duty in Central America this spring.

Used the Pouch on a whale-watching trip in Baja California. Just got back, and glad to say got some great photos! In a small boat ( panga) over a three-day period, and all was well and dry with the Pouch.

My canoe I was riding on capsized before I had this product. Needless to say, my expensive DSLR and lens were damaged beyond repair. Bought this product to protect against water spray, dust, and overall protection from elements - and yes, from possible capsizing. It worked for the purpose intended. Will test it on shallow dive when opportunity arises. No leaks or moisture problems. However, it's tough but it's still plastic. So, you want to protect it from pokes and scratches or you just threw away almost $$.

Decided to get this over cheaper alternatives mainly due to:1) optical glass for better image quality2) adaptor to hold front of glass against your lens which really help in preventing any vignetting I do have previous experience using sports housings by aquatech for sports photography and got this more for casual beach side usage. Overall, am very satisfied by the quality of the housing and the images produced out of it.

Keeping in mind, that I would have needed two seperate housings for my EOS 5D and EOS 7D if I had opted for a hard housing.... I would have spent about 10x as much or more! And would have ended up with the same photographic results....

This really is an amazing housing for the price. The first one I had I used I actually found in the basement at my parents house. It had been sitting there for 10+ years and I did a leak test, still worked, and I used it to do surf photography for the first time. It did eventually split open at the side, but I did catch it before going in the water. It lasted a good 6 months which was amazing because it was at least 10 years old. So I bought another one! I loved the second one for a long time and my mistake was leaving it in the car in the heat :-( It shrunk because it got too hot in my trunk, then when I put the camera in it, the housing was soft and the side split open. My fault here for sure. So I bought another one, hahahaha :-) Moral of the story here is to just continuously do water checks for your housing, it is soft housing so just be aware of not leaving it in your car for a day when you aren't using it, but this has been such an amazing an affordable option for me until I can buy a proper water housing. The only downside is it is too hard to change the settings once the camera is in the housing. So I use masking tape to keep my lens set at infinity, then I set my aperture and shutter speed depending on the light, sometimes auto if it's one of those days, and then just go for it! I have taken some amazing photos and love love love how much I've learned to get creative with my settings because of the restriction of being able to change it in the moment :-) It gets 5 stars because for a tenth of the price I get to create amazing photos and enjoy surf photography! I don't have to wait to spend 2500+ on a housing to do what I want :-) And as with any type of water housing, there is always a risk of ruining your camera. I already lost one camera to the sea :-) But the joy of ocean photography is so worth it so I'm willing to jump into the possibility of doing it again! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

Light weight and easy to use. I started using it with my Canon EOS10D and am still using it with the EOS 50D. With all other housings I would have had to buy a new one each time I changed the camera...

Here is the most important thing you will need to know... IT WORKS! Putting your 5D Mark III into a body of water with a $2500 dollar lens and a flash does not feel natural in any way the first time you ease it into the water. But life is life and if it was going to leak I was going to find out the hard way, It did not leak. Humidity packets that came with it got rid of fog. The only tricky thing is that you really need to dial in your settings before getting in there, or use it on full auto. I shoot in Pools in Manual and it worked fine with a bit of going back and adjusting settings again. Direct flash looks terrible underwater as it does above water, so I am still not sure I will use flash again for my underwater needs. Great thing is I can turn flash on and off through the housing anyways so, not a big deal to have there just in case. The plastic does warp your lcd image and makes it look cloudy, the first time I thought everything looked terrible until I took it out of the thick plastic housing. Bottom line, this works, and the company that makes it guarantees your gear in case of manufacturing failure. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!

I went to Hawaii with the whole family, put my important documents, hotel card keys, credit cards, etc on this item and started swimming on the beach. This product is awesome, my whole items were kept secured, dry and neat. The plastic remained intact while I was swimming. I would recommend this practical product.

When hurricane Irene hit our coast, I missed some of the best surf conditions during the year because i was on call carrying a pager. I needed a way to bring my pager out in the water. The solution is the DUS-1 Beeper Bag. I put my pager in a zip lock bag and into the Beeper Bag. The Beeper Bag goes into my camel bak. It works great. I can hear my pager go off while in the surf. I don't have to worry about my pager getting wet or missing a page.
