The gray sE Electronics RF-X Reflexion Filter X is a budget-friendly solution for vocalists, podcasters, and narrators who need to reduce unwanted room ambience while recording in untreated acoustic environments. This reflection filter merges technology from the upscale Reflexion Filter PRO with a lightweight body and an easy-to-use clamp assembly.

It features a four-layer acoustic filter design to effectively impede room reflections and keep sound coloration to an absolute minimum. The RF-X clamp assembly's lightweight design can be used on almost any microphone stand while allowing the position of your mic to be adjusted horizontally without moving your mic stand or the RF-X. Thanks to the L-bracket, you can also adjust the height of the RF-X.

Using the same design technology as the industry-standard Reflexion Filter PRO, the RF-X was conceived to answer the needs of the discerning recording artist working on a budget. With its lightweight vented body and an efficient redesigned clamp assembly, the RF-X is simplicity itself, providing stellar performance and ease of use.

New materials have been developed to make the RF-X lighter than its predecessors while maintaining its durability, helping to position the RF-X as a versatile product suited for any challenging working environment. It features a four-layer acoustic filter design comprised of the outer vented composite panel, a wool fabric layer, an air gap layer, and an inner acoustic foam layer.

This multilayer design differentiates the RF-X from typical designs by filtering frequencies evenly across the whole spectrum, helping to ensuring that recordings exhibit almost zero sound coloration when using the filter.

Just like the RF Pro and RF SPACE, each RF-X is assembled by hand in the sE factory.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this scanner and software work with windows 10?

A: I just got one and have yet to be able to get my computer, an HP running Windows 10, to recognize the computer is installed even thought the software for the scanner is installed. I may be sending this back.

Q: 2. Can you scan at 1200 dpi or 2400 dpi?

A: The Plustec 8200i can scan at 1200 and 2400 dpi.

Q: 3. could this scan 120mm negs?

A: The Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE Film Scanner (B&H# PLOF8200ISE) can scan 35mm film strips and 35mm slides only.

Q: 4. can i convert in to PDF document?

A: After you have scanned you can then print/export photo to PDF

Q: 5. Can you do batch scanning with 35mm slides? I want to just be able to insert the slide, push a button and have it scan all the negatives on it's won, instead of doing it one by one.

A: It does not have an auto feed. You have to advance each frame manually.

Q: 6. What is the difference between this and the 8100?

A: The OpticFilm 8200i SE has built-in Infrared dust and scratch removal and the OpticFilm 8100 does not. An IR system is the preferred way to remove dust and scratches because it is more accurate and leaves fewer artifacts than software dust and scratch removal. Just be aware that IR dust and scratch removal doesn't work on silver-based black and white film and some Kodachrome slides.

Q: 7. Can I scan 110 negative film. Do I need a special holder?

A: I am sure there is some way you could jury rig something that would make the 35 mm negative holder work with 110 negs, but they are really small and it would be really ugly. The scanner is great and in order for it to do your 110 negatives justice and keep your sanity you need to pick up a special holder.

Q: 8. can i scan 120 film?

A: Not with this scanner, which is a dedicated 35 mm scanner. To the best of my knowledge, for medium format negatives your best bet is a dual purpose flat bed scanner that comes with the appropriate masks to hold negatives in the size you want to scan. Dedicated film scanners for medium format negatives may be available, but are likely to be very expensive.

Q: 9. I just bought this scanner. I can't seem to get higher than a 6 Megapixel scan from it. is it possible to go higher? I was hoping to get at least a 12Megapixel scan for larger prints.

A: Set the Res slider in the SilverFast Scan Dimensions dialog to 3600 ppi and select the Photo Quality Output (300 ppi). You should get a file that is the equivalent of about 15 Megapixel image. If not please contact Plustek Support 714-670-7713 option 1 ask for Mark.

Q: 10. Will this scan Kodak Kodaslide stereo slides. I.e. will a stereo slide fit into the 35mm slide carrier?

A: No, the film carriers for the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE Film Scanner would not hold the stereo slides properly. You would need to unmount those in order to scan. Or there may be 3rd party holders out there that would work, though we do not carry any currently.
